except I’m trying to LOSE and he’s trying to GAIN! I’m a whopping 250+ pounds and he’s a teeny 120lbs. (Hmph stupid male dancers and their stupid amazing metabolism!)
He’s really sweet about it and sometimes will try to eat in another room! Not that I’m terribly depriving myself.. but I don’t want a crummy ol’ salad while he’s eating a delicious smelling creamy pasta!
Has anyone else had any difficulty with these things?

@Chrysoberyl: My fiance and I both joined My fitness pal together, I joined to help motivate him. I joined to maintain my petitie frame and he joined to lose weight for our upcoming wedding. He has done amazing on the APP and has lost nearly 40 lbs, and I was able to maintain my weight.
I know its hard to eat healthy when someone is enjoying something tastier, but think about the benefits of not only your health in the long run and it will open your relationship to try things that you may not have felt that you could do before.
Wishing you all the best in your weight loss. A huge percentage of or bridal party even aside from him has been successful, they’ve lost anywhere from 28 to 15 lbs 🙂

My fiance and I were both using myfitness pal. He was also trying to gain weight while I was trying to lose about 30 lbs. I think it helped him see he needed to eat more calories and he tried to fit more meals in throughout the day. We’ve kind of taken a break from in the last few weeks and need to get back into it.

My DH is trying to gain strength and muscle, but he is doing it eating about the same foods as myself. He doesnt heat carb heavy meals because he wants muscle weight not fat weight.
So for example. Last night we had steak salads. His salad had more steak, more blue cheese, a whole avocado, olive oil, a couple eggs.
Mine was similar with much less of the calorie heavy ingredients and vinegar instead of oil. Fat is still important for me (fat does not make you fat) but I dont need as many calories as him so I made a salad smaller for my appetite and heavier on the veggies.
We really dont eat different foods, we just eat a different ratio of them or he adds oil or avocado to nearly every meal.
So example tonight we will have chicken breasts. He willl have the skin on his, have a sweet potatoe with butter (Ill have 1/2 a sweet potatoe no butter), cucumbers (its still important that he gets his veggies, he will have an avocado and lime probably, and some satueed kale. Hell add extra olive oil and maybe cheese to his at the table. Ill eat mine as I made them.
