My Fiance and I decided to wait until I land a job in my field (teaching) before we actively start TTC.
However, we decided to start NTNT right after the wedding. I really have baby fever, am 28-years-old, and we can afford to have a baby on FI’s salary alone. So, getting pregnant would still be a happy thing. However, the only reason we decided not to actively start TTC (tracking and whatnot) is because we think being pregnant would be a hinderance while interviewing.
So, just out of curiosity, how many actually got pregnant while NTNT?

We NTNTed for 8 months and have been TTC for almost a year and a half now. Still nothing! But that’s definitely outside the norm. 🙂

I voted “other”. I didn’t really chart at all, but stopped BC for a couple of months. If you have regular periods, its pretty easy to figure out when you are ovulating. We avoided those days the first month or two. On the third month, we had sex 2x during the “fertile days” and got pregnant! We were shocked, but happy!

With my eldest we had the attitude if it happens it happens….well it happened.
With my youngest we were using POM method….yeah I don’t recommend that one too well…lol

With my first husband, I stopped taking the Pill in August of ’02. I was 19 and clueless (didn’t know a thing about charting or when my fertile time was), and he didn’t want to use condoms. So I guess that counts as NTNT, since we weren’t taking precautions but weren’t actively trying to get KU. I got pregnant after 2 cycles….

This just happend! I am almost 6 weeks preg today. We got married in October and last month we decided we were going to NTNT… we were on the the same plan as you two. I wanted to get a job in my field first, as I am unemployed now due to my husband’s job relocating us. His salary also is fine and we can afford having a baby. But now, Im worried about interviewing for jobs knowing that I am pregnant and knowing I will have to leave work temporarily… Will they be mad finding out I was pregnant, etc.? So Im thinking about just putting off my “career” and find a “less specialized” job just to get out of the house until the baby is born…. But yes it happend right away with us …OOPS … 🙂

When we got married just over two months ago, we decided to ditch the condoms except for when I should by charting be at risk of getting pregnant. Well here we are in week 7 of pregnancy. I made it through 1 whole cycle without getting pregnant.
Keep in mind that you won’t show for the first 3 months or so and can hide it by dressing carefully for another month or 2 depending on your body. I wouldn’t tell potential employees if you are pregnant. That’s none of their business.
When are you going on the job market? Are you trying to get a position for 2012-2013? If so, you would land a job way before you got pregnant or at least showed it. As for 2013-2014, if you are pregnant while interviewing and it’s showing, you’d have given birth before the school year started.
