If so, show me before and after pics if you have them! Or even just after pics!
I have a small tattoo on my foot that I wish I had never gotten. It’s nothing crazy- not the name of an ex or anything- just symbolizes something I don’t believe in anymore. I was 17 when I got it done (I’m 25 now).
I’m considering getting a cover-up tattoo since I have read that tattoo removal is expensive and painful.

MichiganGirl24: My FI, when he was young and dumb, gave himself an anarchy symbol on the inside of his ankle. Probably more to piss of my future MIL than anything, LOL! But, when he joined the Army, they made him do something about it. He got it covered with a spade, like on a deck of cards. Not sure why he chose the spade (probably all he could afford at the time), not sure I ever really asked, but it was fading about a year ago and you could see the sign showing through again. He just got it reinked.

MichiganGirl24: I have a coverup on my hip. The original tattoo was something I got when I was 18 w my ex that looked horrible. My coverup hurt like a bitch And took 4 hrs to do but it’s amazing and is still one of my favorite tattoos (i have 13)

a friend of mine is a tattoo artist and posts pic all the time onFB and some have been cover tattoos. All the ones I’ve seen look great! I think the best thing for you to do is go speak to a tattoo artist. They would know best about your options. If the tattoo artist is unwilling to consulate with you about it, they prbly aren’t a good one and move on from them and find a better artist.

I hopefully will In august! Depending on how the consultation goes and what they tell me. I will update then with good news and pics or all bummed out lol. I impulsively (I know…) picked a random design done badly by a tatoo “artist” and well, here I am! It’s not that big 1×3″ or so and luckily I decided not to have it colored in so I’m hoping it can be done.

Yep! I got a crown on my lower back when I was 21 (and clearly very, very classy) and now it’s covered by a rose. I added a sparrow and some filigree to distract from it further. My husband is my tattoo artist so it was pretty convenient 🙂
We need to do one more color session on the rose to touch up some spots where the original tattoo was darker and he wants to add some color to the filigree, but here’s a picture of where we are so far.

Sorry for a second post, but I found a “before” picture.

My best friend had a really horrible pink Punisher tattoo on her hip. After multiple attempts to laser it off, she couldn’t take the pain anymore. She got it covered up with a flower and it is BEAUTIFUL.

I had a small outline tattoo covered with a similar design, just larger and full of color. I wouldnt give a second thought to getting a cover-up. The hardest part about it is keeping it to myself that it is a cover-up.

i havent done it yet but am looking for a little coverup myself. speaking of classy i was young and got daddys girl with a fairy.. on my lower back. i was a teenager and now im almost 30 and ready to move on. there is only one tattoo shop here in town and they are not that good. so it makes it really hard to talk with an artist about it.

I had a cross on my foot done at 18. It was not done super well and I ended up getting it covered up with a dragonfly several years later. I have been much happier with it since then!

my friend had a cross on her lower back, her (now) husband told her he found it odd to be having sex with her with a cross so close to her nether regions lol she ended up getting it turned into a butterfly, and you can’t even tell it was ever a cross!

Just go to someone who is very experienced in cover ups or even specializes in them. And do not let them try to use yellow as a cover up color. Blue usually works best (besides black obviously).

I had a fairly unattractive tattoo of a dagger (please don’t ask me why I thought this would ever look good but I was very young!) re-inked and turned into a rose entwined with barbed wire. It looks very much better!
