Is it just me or are pasta dishes very filling? I don't even mean all that goes on them--just the basic boiled pasta itself is so filling to me! Not that I just want plain old boiled pasta of course! :)

In my quest to have vegan/vegetarian selections at our reception I thought, Everyone can do pasta!

Ok, I won't say "everyone" but at least it's a fairly familiar dish.

Yep! For our vegetarian meal we had vegetarian lasagna. It was delicious!

We are having goat cheese ravioli with mushrooms for our vegetarian dish. I actually like it more than our fish dish!

Is it all of the carbs? :) I punk out on pasta after a few forkfuls! haha Anyhow, I was leaning towards a quinoa dish for the vegetarian entree but I feel like listing quinoa as an entree on the invitation wouldn't be too popular :( I have had DELICIOUS quinoa entrees--and ones that particular carnivorous omnivores I know were in love with!

Hmmm. Ok, pasta w/homemade sauce for breakfast now!

Yeah we're having Veggie Lasgana as one of our entrees on the buffet. Best thing about it (other than the taste lol) is how much cheaper it is than going with another meat option!!

We're having vegetarian pasta primavera as our vegetarian dish. I'll let you know how it turns out!

We are giving guests a choice of chicken piccatta or pasta alfredo with vegetables.  I wanted something vegetarian and cheaper--it is $10 less than the chicken!  So far, most of our responses are chicken.

Spaghetti is, and always has been, my favorite food. I'm having an entire pasta bar at my wedding.

I love PASTA. That is all.

EDIT: You wanted to know about wedding reception entrees. I am having baked ziti as one of my lunch entrees. In my experience, pretty much everyone eats baked ziti. The other entree is chicken Marsala.

I'm going to have at least one pasta entree, hopefully more! I'm a vegetarian and the FIL's are Italian, so it works for us!

Our main dish is bow tie pasta with crawfish. We wanted bow tie because to me it seems so hard to eat regular pasta neat and without having to slurp it up like lady and the tramp :) haha especially all spiffy in nice clothes.

Pasta is very filling. That's why it's a popular suggestion if someone is on a tight budget and wants a filling meal that is inexpensive.

@MissCastle: I'm pretty interested in a pasta bar! People have options and it's familiar and fun!

Yes!  I'm having pasta with a pesto type sauce for my veg option.  I'm not vegetarian but I may order it anyway.

We are going to be having a pasta station at our buffet.  I think it's great for kids and vegetarians because it's make your own pasta so you can include meat if you want or just have pasta and sauce!

@JessicaL: That is hilarious. I had a great pesto pasta at the restaurant where we will probably get our catering service and that sauce was all over my shirt by the end of the night! Kind of embarrasing. But it was gooood. So, we are going to go with bowtie, penne or maybe rotini pasta...I always liked rotini...

I went to a wedding with a whole pasta station, it was very yummy! They had a few different sauces, some veggie and some with chicken or sea food. Then they had cheese to put on top.

I'm a carbs girl, and would prefer a pasta dish over meat anytime if given the choice. I think it's a great idea.
