I also have enamel loss and would also love to learn more about it.

I had enamel loss and I first had lumineers put on though they felt like they were sticking out because they go on top of your teeth and they didn’t look right so I then had those taken off and veneers put on so with veneers obviously you lose alot of the original tooth where they file them down etc but they can make the shape better and they look so much better than the lumineers for me. In the Uk I paid around £600 maybe more per veneer which is alot when I had 8 teeth to have done. Veneers are stronger than lumineers and last longer. With lumineers I think I wish I had done more research as to what would have suited my mouth and teeth before having them put on.

The veneers definitely worth it, had alot of sensitivity for a few weeks and a fair bit of pain and then it all settled down and was glad i had it done just wish I hadn’t used lumineers first.  I don’t have a picture of my lumineers as I had them taken off pretty much a couple days after they were put on (A plus I guess to lumineers that they can come off and have your tooth underneath still).

The picture shows off my smile with my veneers and I am so happy with them and glad I replaced the lumineers with these. I would recommend veneers to you if you really want a perfect smile as lumineers just don’t give the same effect. I will try and look back and see f I have any pics of my lumineers though I don’t think I had any taken with them on they were so bad. Hope this helps.

@MrsRichard:  my front two teeth are chipping and I think im going to need veneers to keep my smile :(. At this point indont think I care too much about the filing since my teeth seem to be chip prone anyway. If you find a good price for veneers let me know!

@MrsRichard:  I am glad you are getting more of an idea from people about lumineers and veneers. I went through alot with my teeth to get them how they are now. I did have concerns about veneers to start with another reason I first went with the lumineers. I didn’t like the sound of what they did to the teeth but if you look after them well and don’t smoke then they can last a long time and I love my teeth now, It just means that if anything happend or they do eventually need work doing to them that they will have to be replaced with another veneer which would be a cost issue more than anything so good dental care is essential. I don’t even think about my teeth under them anymore, to me my veneers are my teeth now. I think it is wise to think about and not to rush into making a decision because you can’t undo it, but your teeth will be healthier with the veneer on and prevent more erosion and will give you great teeth.

Totally not helpful, but is this how the band got the name? From now on, their music will make me think of teeth. Nice, bright, white, shiny ones.

My bilateral incisors are implants because I was missing them and I had my front teeth and my canines veneered to match the implants better. I love my smile and I couldn’t be happier! I had this all done in high school and my dad paid for all of it so I don’t know how much it all costs, but they are very natural looking. It was a long road of braces and surgeries before I could get them but it was worth it in the end. If you can afford it, go for it. My self esteem has sky rocketed because of them

I have always been bothered ny the gap between my two front teeth, my FI thinks it is silly, but to me it was important. I went to many consultations and was trying to decide between braces (bottom teeth are perfectly straight but would have had to had braces on them too because bite would change – 18-24 months of braces) and veneers.

My dentist did a mock up of the veneers (Lumineers) and I was sold. Not only did it fixed my gap but also made the second tooth bigger and filled out my smile. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I was done in a few short visits with minimal prep work, no pain or sensitivity issues (my teeth are actually less sensitive due to the veneer) and if I do say so myself, I think my smile looks great 🙂

I had 4 veneers placed on my front 4 teeth, they cost $750 a piece so $3000 total, which was less than braces by at least $2500 depending on the estimate, less than 1/2 from others. I will say though I have read many reviews of lumineers (bad) online and I think the dentist is paramount to success with Lumineers. I am super happy with mine and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Anyway, here is a pic of my before and after smile. The before is actually after the prep work, so my gap is a bit exaggerated because it’s so even but you get the idea. It was two weeks between the prep and the placement of my veneers and no one noticed the difference in my teeth. Sorry for the HUGE extremely close up.

Have you decided whether you’re going to get them? I would love to see pictures if you decide to get them!

I wasn’t sure how to tag you in my original post 🙁 anyway, just wanted you to see my thoughts on Lumineers. Have any of you decided to get them done? I’d love to see pictures 🙂

@eLPeeseNanner:  I have a small gap as well but the process of braces seemed scary to me…I’d rather do this and be done with it quickly!
