Originally my date was Sept 18, 2010, approximately 100 people at a venue in Woodbridge, Virginia. The planning, the price, the drama seems to overwhelm me. I really only want immediate family and a few friends though. I stumbled on the Disney Weddings site and fell in love with their Escape Wedding pacakge at DisneyWorld in Orlando. The location, price, everything seems perfect.
Has anyone had a wedding here??? I called and spoke to someone there but am waiting for my Planner to call me back.

I went to a wedding in Disney in the summer of ’08. I’m not sure that it was the Disney ‘Escape’ package though. It was in a white pavilion overlooking some kind of water (lake, pond, something like that!). Then we were escorted to a banquet hall. The wedding was really pretty and the food was amazing. There really isn’t too much ‘Disney’ stuff incorporated into the wedding itself though, other than the fact that you’re smack in the middle of their resorts. I’d say you should do it though. Its was the most fun I’ve had at a destination wedding!

I am having a Disney Escape wedding!!! I think it’s amazing option to a tropical destination wedding and they make it SO easy to have your dream wedding…my planner does pretty much everything for me other than with my “reception”. Their packages include every aspect of the wedding day plus they offer you the ability to customize it however you wish. You can make it as Disney as you want, or as little as you want. We personally aren’t going crazy with a Disney theme, but there will definitely be hints of it here and there (our cake topper will be a Mickey & Minnie). But you can even get characters come to your cake cutting for an extra cost of course.
We were in the same situation. Our wedding was originally about 100 people but I got so overwhelmed with the cost and trying to plan all the details that I decided something needed to change. I didn’t want a wedding where I’d spend the entire night talking with people I hardly knew! So we looked into Disney because I love everything Disney, found out how affordable it was and how easy they make everything and then the decision was pretty much made. We could have a really nice intimate wedding and honeymoon for less than what we could have spent at home – and we’re getting A LOT more out of it. We are having a small wedding of about 20 guests at the wedding pavilion site at the Grand Floridian resort and then most of our guests are staying to have fun with us at Disney while we’re on our honeymoon. The venues Disney offers are breathtaking and there’s so many fun things you can plan for your guests!! Let me know if you have any questions 🙂

There is another member on here having a disney wedding either just had it or is about to. Can’t remember her date. I think her username is DWBride. You might look under destination weddings to see if you can find her. She might have some more tips.
