Ok, before you go off to Dr. Google, did she mention what could cause it? Most common is pre-ecclampsia BUT if she didn't mention something I wouldn't freak out right now.
@Miss Sapphire: well she just said it might be indicative of something wrong with the way my kidneys are working but she didnt say more than that, she wants to get the lab results first before coming to any conclusions. She did say the dipstick could be wrong so I guess she doesnt want to worry me. They also took some blood work to check as well. I guess I will have to wait for the results but its a bit nerve wracking.
Sounds like the tests she's doing are right in line with a first positive test of protien. Try not to worry until you get more information. It's always hard when they don't elaborate so make sure you ask lots of questions.

I had my OB visit this weekend and when I gave my urine sample, they did a quick dipstick test and said it showed protein in my urine and so they are sending the sample over to the lab for an actual detailed analysis. Has anyone been through this? Naturally i'm worried but I'm hoping that maybe the dipstick was wrong? or that its something minor... sigh the joys of being pregnant theres always something new to worry about
