many people have found success at OA! go to a meeting – there’s no pressure to do anything, just go and see how it feels.

a good rule of thumb is to go to 5 meetings and then make a decision. that way you’re not scared away immediately, you meet people, and you get a real feel for how it works.

I went to OA when I knew I had a problem with binging and over-eating. However, at the time I did not look fat because I was weight-training and very active in martial arts. I was made to feel most unwelciomed and got a lot of “What are YOU doing here, you’re not fat!”. I am sure I just happened upon a bad group and most OA groups are probably more understanding.

I joined Spark People a little over three months ago. It’s free and so far I have lost 23 lbs. and a total of 14 inches from my waist, hips, thighs and upper arms. Loads of resources, informative articles, message boards, teams, etc. I am not telling you to go there but it might be an option to check out!
