I looked into them when I was searching for a restaurant for my reception, but they were just more than I wanted to pay. I am doing TX Land and Cattle instead. I still think it is a great option.
@accorn: Isnt that the italian restaurant? I have never been there... will there be room for dancing and stuff?
I had my rehearsal dinner there. I think it would be great for a reception! i'm not sure if all of them are the same but ours had private rooms upstairs. severel small ones that can open to a big one. we had about 40 people for the rehearsal dinner so we fit in one room. i really love the atmosphere, the dark wood and gorgeous lighting - the price isnt bad its cheaper than doing at say, a hotel, but not by much. but the food was AMAZING we really loved it. i would def look into it.
Also i would ask about their policy on DJ'st and stuff like that, dance floors, but i think they advertise wedding receptions so it probably wont be a problem, but worth asking about.
also dont worry about the food running out - you pay per person. We had SOOO much food, and if our table finished a plate they brought more out.
@MrsNeutrino: Yes it is an Italian restaurant- There should be room for dancing
@MaiFuture: Does TxLC have an open bar option?
@totheislnds: I know they can do a DJ, I need to ask if they can accommodate a band although I have a feeling that would swallow up the dance area
I would say make sure you really like their food. I don't think their catering food is great---the grilled chicken breast was burnt/overly liquid smoked, and the gnocchi was sooooo doughy and the sauce was just meh. I love Italian food too, so it was a big disappointment. Definitely try the menu out and make sure you love it!!! Catering wasn't as good as when I eat in the restaraunt. (went to the DC/Friendship Heights location btw)
@MrsDulce: I love their food- although it has been a long time since I last had it- it left a lasting impression.
I would be doing it there so I assume it would be the same as normally eating in the restaurant.
My friend had her reception in the Maggiano's in Atlanta, GA (Buckhead to be exact). She had 110+ guests. She brought in chair covers and chair sashes to bring in her colors. Maggiano's provided the centerpieces. There was a bar, DJ, plenty of food, and plenty of room for dancing. The food was served family style, and there was plenty.
Hey! My cousin is the banquet manager at the las Vegas maggianos .... I could give you her number if you have questions. I'm biased but she's really awesome :) the food is amazingggggg!!!!!
I went to a wedding at Maggianos a month ago. It was really good! Thay actually did the ceremony and reception there. They were trying to do things on a very low budget, so they had an ipod playing music, not a DJ, but I'm sure a DJ would be fine. I love the food there and they served it all family style, which was kinda cool because we all got to try everything instead of only having one choice.
I would definitely recommend it. Good luck!!
I'm looking into as well for my own reception! The private rooms are awesome, to me it's a fantastic deal $$$$$$
I have not but I LOVE Maggianos. I would be so excited to go to a reception there though!!!!!!!
I wanted to go to Maggianos but due to its proximity and rush hour, no can do. Instead we're having our wedding dinner @ a local Italian restaurant,
@Melissa.erin: is your cousin Cassy? shes AWESOME!
I'm getting married in Vegas and our reception is at Maggianos and Cassy and Marc have been AMAZING!
Maggiano's came highly recommended!
I just had my reception there two weeks ago, and it was lovely! They are more than willing to tailor to your needs. Our reception was very small, but they had room available, the menus are extensive as well as customizable should you need it(one of my guests was vegan)....they also asked for someone they could speak with during the reception other than myself and my husband(since obviously we'd be a bit busy!) that we trusted to convey our needs, and we had sufficient staff available. The food, of course, was fantastic. We had a computer plugged into their sound system to play our customized playlist, but I'm certain that a DJ would be fine as long as you rented a large enough space depending on the amount of people at the reception.
I highly recommend! :o)
I think we will be going with Maggiano's but I am concerned with the time frame- you get the room for four hours.
What is everyone's experience with this?

I'm seriously considering Maggiano's for the reception because it just seems so easy- I won't have to rent chairs, mess with caterers, get chair covers, etc. I also love the idea of family style food- I want this to be an opportunity for our families to get to know one another and this seems perfect. I am a little worried about there not being enough food, as in one particular dish running out.
Has anyone had any experience with a wedding reception at Maggiano's?
