Has anyone here done "Piloxing"??

i do it all the time, it’s a great core workout and a lot of fun. it’s exactly what it sounds like, pilates and boxing. i’ve never done either seperately to compare to either but its a ton of plies, squats, side kicks, boxing-style punching and very fast-paced. the 400-900 calories sounds about right. it’s about a 50 minute workout with stretching and at the end we do floor work including crunches and donkey kicks at the end. i highly suggest a fitbit or other pedometer that tracks calories burned, they really help with that stuff.

The calories burned isn’t just intensity, though certainly that plays a large role. It’s also your sustained heart rate relative to your size (height, weight, and muscle mass). So, if you’re an average 5’5, 150 pound female, you’ll burn fewer calories than a 5’9, 250 pound female and even fewer than someone with lots of lean muscle. Definitely invest in a heart rate monitor, but in the mean time, Google can help you calculate loose estimates based on your size.
