My RE put me on BCP for 14 days to ‘reset’ my ovaries starting on CD3. I stopped yesterday and start injectibles Sat, but I was just wondering if I should expect a period after only 2 weeks of BCP. Does anyone have any experience with taking it a shorter time than the usual 3 weeks of active pills?

pinkshoes: I have never heard about this before! I am interested to see what others will post. Maybe they only prescribed you two weeks rather than three to avoid you getting your period.
Update us us when you get your shots 🙂 xx

I’ll be on BCP about 2 1/2 weeks before I start IVF. I started the BCP on CD3 as well. I think it’s fairly common. At our IVF class, they talked about using BCP anywhere from 2-6 weeks, depending on the individual. Good luck!!

I was on the BCP for 10 or 11 days before I started my IVF stims. I can’t remember if I had any spotting after (I probably did, but that was a long time ago), and even if I did, it was something my RE anticipated and my stim cycle went very well. My RE doesn’t like to do BCP for too long out of fear of over suppressing.
