Hi there,
My DJ is doing our monogram lighting- they charge an additional 250 for it...I'm guessing things are more expensive in Long Beach, but you may want to ask them since it might be the same cost as DIY :)
The whole assembly would be quite expensive as the light itself costs $300+ and then the gobo is $100+. If you are looking for a budget option you might save a little by renting the light and purchasing the gobo yourself but you will also need to consider how you will hang the light, focusing it and power distribution (so as not to blow a circuit during the reception). Have you gotten any quotes from lighting companies? You may get a gobo for less than $300 as an add on to a lighting package.
Our lighting company is setting up the light for $200 but I am buying a GOBO for $100 off of barbizon.com. The whole set-up is around $300 but like PP said I would outsource it.

Gobo or monogram lighting? Did you buy the whole assembly or did you just buy the carved out monogram itself? If either one of these, where did you buy it? I am looking for something under $300. Thanks so much!
