Goodness, I am sorry for you! An honor’s year should be a great time for you to get a bit more of an idea of if you would like to do clinical or a research placement. I am in the last few months of my PhD in a similar field, and understand how important your supervisors can be for both your success and mental health. My advice would be to push through it. The realities of university work is that often you will not have a lot of control over your direction until you reach a very senior level and you will need to be flexible based on funding, department priorities, and quite honestly your supevisors’ priorities. This will happen all the way up the food chain.  If I was in your shoes, I would keep the topic and ask your coordinator if it was possible to have an additional supervisor. Choose a post-doc or someone who may understand the pressures since it will be more recent to them. Best of luck, really really really hope everything works out for you.

MissMonie:  Hey, if you want to have bit more of a chat, pm  and we can chat over FB if you want. I would just hate for anyone to ‘start’ over again….
