So, I just realized that I have a minor problem (3 weeks away from the wedding!). I am getting married outside (on a golf course) and I have asked both of my parents to escort me down the aisle. It seems that the standard aisle runner is 36″ wide, but there is no way that the 3 of us will fit across that width. Has anyone seen aisle runners that will fit 3 people across? I’m thinking maybe 4 feet (48 inches)? Thanks for your help!

Um I just googled 48″ wedding aisle runner and got a few hits… there is this site http://www.balloons-galore.net/cat_aisle.cfm as well as others.
If you were planning on getting one for a specific place, maybe you could talk with them about what you want and they can do a custom runner for you?
Sorry I’m not more help…we’re not even using one.

I am making my own which is a whole lot cheaper. I just bought the fabric at the right width, you can get some plain cottons in 52in and 48in and cut it to length. Add some ribbon and a string to one end and just ribbon to the other. Wrap it around a piece of pvc and get t pins to hold it down. I am painting a flourish on the end to make it ours.

They aren’t cheap, but here is a link to a company in Illinois that sells 48″ and 60″ runners. Prices depend on the length, but it’ll run you between $150-$200. I think I am going to need one of the 60″ runners.
I recently saw a video of a bride walking down the aisle with her father on a standard size runner. They had tall candles lining the aisle. The bride and her father could not comfortably fit on the aisle together and her dress was almost knocking down the candles. Guests were actually looking at the potential fire hazard and not the bride’s procession! My dress isn’t huge, but it’s definitely got some girth, so I’ll spend the extra $200 so my dad and I don’t have to walk sideways!

I may be using Gossamer from Shindigz to make my own – it won’t be rolled out right before I come down the aisle or anything, so having it with a pullcord isn’t a big deal to me.
This comes in many colors and widths/lengths.
