My husband just gave me blue roses last week. They are very blue, they don’t look purple at all.  I will put up a pic when I get home.

I had a lot of blue roses because they were my favorite flowers when i was younger. They never looked purple.

I’ve got a bouquet of blue roses for my sweet sixteen and they looked very pretty and very blue! Not purple at all!I dried them and they are in my photo album now and still look blue! They were very expensive though, at that time (ten years ago)

Don’t worry, maybe consult an othet florist?

It depends whether they order blue roses or dye the roses themself. There’s a company in Holland that cultivates blue roses by adding dye as they grow, these are the roses that are 2-3 times more expensive than any other variety of rose. The other option is to have your florist buy white roses and dye them (either with food coloring in the water, or with a spray dye).

We just did a wedding with a rainbow theme, and you can see the blue rose peeking out the back. We used spray dye because its much cheaper.

Good luck!!

@afelk1112: Thanks! At first we were worried that the rainbow wouldn’t turn out as vivid as we had hoped, but we were really careful when we selected the varieties of rose. We were thrilled with how they turned out, and so were the brides! Good luck planning the rest of your wedding!
