I cried too! And I saw tears roll from under the rims of the 3-D eyeglasses my fiance wore too. The beginning is just so heartbreaking! ![]()
Such an amazing movie though! Did you see it 3-D?
Fiance and I went to see it a couple weeks ago. I cried like a baby in those first 15-20 minutes, and then again when the old man was looking through the adventure book and found the pictures :'( What a sad and lovely story. I've seen it described elsewhere as being "delightful", and I think it's a pretty accurate description of the movie.
The little boy was adorable too. I wanted to reach to the screen and pinch his cheeks ^_^ And Dug the dog was super cute. SQUIRREL! :D
Not yet. But I heard a story about a little girl with terminal cancer who wanted to see it but was too sick to leave her house. Pixar (or whoever made the movie) found out, and they gave her a DVD to watch. She watched it with her mom and then died later that night! :(
We saw it too.It wasn't what I expected at all - we thought it was going to be a louder/more boisterous kids' movie. I really liked it and found it so sad and sweet.I had tears brimming every time he kissed his wife's picture.
it's a fabulous movie with a wonderful soundtrack...i am actually trying to figure out an appropriate place to use some of in the wedding!!
I LOVED Up, but I cried for the first 20 minutes! I haven't seen Benjamin Button yet. Did you like it?
Oh, Benjamin Button was good, but worse on the crying factor!!! I literally cried during the whole thing, maybe it was worse though because I was at home and had good access to tissues! ;)
Taffy, I was sobbing, sobbing at Benjamin Button. I'm pretty sure Mr.D was slightly embarassed.... I haven't seen UP yet, I'm waiting for Mr.D to get here. I saw Marley & Me shortly after my grandmother passed away and it really upset me. I wonder what the other people in the theatre thought!
I'm glad that I'm not alone!!! I still cried for at least an hour afterward, and totally had an awful "crying" headache the next day. I don't ever remember crying so much during a movie! I think we'll watch some comedies next... :)
Oh, I totally cried throughout Up. But my warm-up act was the short beforehand -- "Partly Cloudy." I laughed so hard I started crying! Loved both so much, and I wish I weren't so busy with wedding stuff so we could go again!
I totally cried during Up. Mr. M was looking at me like I was crazy. I wanted to see Benjamin Button but maybe not so much anymore!
oh man, i cried during the first ten minutes when they were going through their life story. I must've cried a total of 3 times. My FI and I were talking about it afterwards, and we definitely didn't think that was how the story was going to be... the previews don't give a hint at all of how much it would make you cry.
btw - i didn't know they had it in 3-D!
I cried the whole way through UP! My husband said that he could tell I cried through the whole thing (not just the beginning) because I kept sniffling in between every laugh. :)
Oh, and the dogs absolutely killed us! We already have voices we use for our dogs (I know we're nerds) but sometimes now we throw in a "Squirrel!" or "I love you because you are my master!" The dogs are like the funniest part about the whole movie!
I LOVED up! The dogs killed me, too, my friend and I who went to see it together kept spontaneously saying "Squirrel!" throughout our converstations all day...lol
I cried a little at that one part that I'm sure those who've seen it know (but I don't want to say lest I spoil it for someone who's not yet seen it!)
I highly recommend this film! ![]()
I absolutely loved UP! It was so poingnant and bittersweet - the first 20 minutes I was getting all teary, and I'm like "Pixar, what are you doing to me??"
Funny story: As we were walking out of the theater, we heard some people talking about the movie. One lady complained, "I don't like movies that force some stupid life message on you. I think that movie was too preachy."
Wierdo...
I cried so hard I was on the verge of sobbing in public...perhaps they should have a warning for pregnant women not to watch the first 10 minutes of that movie!
LOVED. this movie. I def cried in the beginning though and my FI was def teary!!
We're supposed to see it on Friday. I'll be sure to bring tissues! lol
My FI is widely known for being a very sensitive, heart-on-his-sleeve type of guy.......and a huge crier. He cried a LOT during UP. I felt like at least one of us needed to keep it together, so I didn't!
It was a great movie. My FI and I went a few weeks back and were the only child-less adults there. It was the cutest thing hearing the kiddies get excited when they saw something or shouted to their parents when they didn't understand a part of the movie. I just couldn't believe some of the sad parts of the movie. I didn't cry but I definitely had chills...
It was wonderful!
Like many of you, I cried as well! it was just so cute!
"SQUIRELL"...........
Not only am I a crier, but I had a slight cold when I went to see Up ... which really only made the snifflinf and crying that much worse/more obvious :P. It's okay though ... my FI cried too :P He said that even the "Partly Cloudy" short made him sad! haha

We just went to see it today, and loved it! The story was a real tear jerker though... I cried quite a bit in the theater.
I have been having a really strong reaction lately to movies where a couple gets separated, either by circumstance or death. We saw Benjamin Button last weekend and I cried for almost two hours! eeesh.
