Haven’t been there yet, but we are going there for our honeymoon in June! We know three couples who have been there and all have loved it. Two of them even went back again.

caiteliz23:  We stayed there a few years ago (June 2010) and absolutely loved it; it was our favourite of the three we’ve stayed at so far (Excellence Riviera Cancun and Royal Playa del Carmen being the other two).

We stayed in a standard suite and found it very nice: beds were large and comfortable, and the rooms were well laid-out with a table and chairs for dining, and a large sofa and TV in front of the bed. We liked not having to make restaurant reservations, and overall the food was the best we’ve had at an all incluisve (though obviously food is subjective). We loved the lazy river style pool; the other was too big and busy for us. We also liked the different bars, and the night-time entertainment (fire show is worth a look, and they do things like Casino nights in the courtyard area).

So yeah, we really enjoyed our stay. I did a very detailed review which you can find here:

I posted quite a few photos in another thread on here; will find it and pop the link up.

We were there last year for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful! I think we got the most bang for our buck there. My husband is totally sold on all-inclusives now.

We did do one tour off the property to see the Mayan ruins in Coba. If you have time, I would recommend it. The tour also included 2 ziplines, swimming in a cenote, and a traditional Mayan lunch. We were worn out at the end, but we really enjoyed it.

We went for our honeymoon and had a great time! Champagne and snacks on check-in. All the restaurants were amazing and we never waited for a table. There’s a little bar next to the game room/sports pub that has a piano and is a great place to have a drink before dinner. The room was clean and VERY nice. Big shower, big tub (I think we just had a standard room.) It was also nice that room service was included. All the staff was wonderful and helpful.

The last day we were there we went down to see the sea turtle nests (they put an enclosure around them to keep them safe) and the baby sea turtles just happened to be hatching! The guy who was tending to them let us take them down to the water and release them. It was my husband’s favorite thing.

The only negative thing I would have to say wasn’t a reflection on the resort – it rained the WHOLE TIME. And from what I hear, that’s pretty typical for the area. So be sure to bring your rain jacket and a light sweater.
