i haven't done it, but i agree with you, if you were going to register at jcpenney anyway, a free engagement sitting never hurt! even if it's a less-than-great experience, you haven't lost anything. hope it's fun!
Just be aware that it's their "portrait" studio. So think back to yearbook pics or kids holding props and that's what it is....
So, it's nice and free... but it can be kinda "cheesy." :-) in fact, they don't even have "engagement" or "couples" for examples on their website....
KLP2010 is right about the portrait studio bit. You shoud either get a student to do it for free or someone who is starting out. Pictures will be much better then what you get.

Just curious, I saw that if you registered for 15 items at JCPenney, they will give you a free engagement sitting and an 8x10. Has anyone taken advantage of this offer? If so, how was your experience? I was thinking that since it's free we might as well do it, and who knows, maybe it will turn out to be a nice picture.
