I have them and they kind of hurt my head after a long day at work. They're cute, but they'll rub on your scalp like a too-tight headband all day long. Probably best for nights out, not all day long at work. They're fun but i do see them at the top of my head so make sure you get a color that matches.
I was wondering about these too. I have very fine hair so it's pretty impossible to create and maintain any type of volume. Any other fine-haired women find success with these?
My co-worker had them. She has thick curly hair and I could never tell when she was wearing them and when she wasn't. She did say that it doesn't work well with fine hair as it doesn't really have anything to hold on to.
I have fine hair, and I really have to tease it to get it to cover the Bump It, but it does add lots of volume.
I absolutely love my bumpits! They are only $10 at Walgreens. I wear the mini one all the time for the front of my hair and I've worn the medium size to work all day with my hair half-way pulled back.
I haven't been able to figure out how to wear them with my hair down, they work the best when you are pulling your hair back.
I have actually found them really comfortable.
I tried the bumpits and didn't care for them. They dug into my head and didn't look good on me. Back to Walgreens they went...
I didn't like them either. But that may be because I accidentally got the "hollywood" bump-its and they were just way too big for my taste.
I have fairly thick hair and didn't have any problems with covering the Bumpits, but I will admit that my head really hurt after wearing it to work all day. I don't think I'm very tenderheaded, but maybe I had it in wrong or too hard or something?
hehe my old company used to do the PR and Marketing for Bumpits so I would giggle all the time when I see commercials. I think they are cute if you style your hair correctly and useful especially if you have fine hair that can't be teased to get the same look.
One friend said I looked like a conehead! Maybe it's because I put on wrong? Another person said I look like Amy Winehouse...Then again, I live in DC where people don't wear anything out of the ordinary when it comes to fashion!
dont bother... instead spend the money you would have on that, on a back combing comb and a smoothing brush. if you want your hair "closer to God" then that is the way to go about doing it. and dont let your hairstylist threaten you by saying "your hair is going to fall out" IT WONT! (i am a hairstylist) you around 100 hairs a day. just take it easy at first, practice and you will get the look you want. no bumpit needed, and no plastic showing.
I haven't tried the bumpit, but I have really fine hair and I have no problem teasing my hair to get the bump on it's own. Really all you need is a teasing comb and hairspray. It might take me a little longer to get it perfect than someone with thicker hair (IDK if it does or not), but it works just fine. I have a fairly tender head, so I'm pretty sure the bumpit would hurt me after a couple hours!
If you are having trouble teasing, try a stronger hairspray...that helped me a lot!
Does anybody have any pics of them actually wearing them? I'm just curious to see what it looks like on non-infomercial hair.
haha...I just goggled it and saw the video!! I like it, i think imma go to walgreens (per amp0166) where its cheaper! I'm excited!
I'm actually going to attempt to use mine tonight for a friends wedding. I'll post pics if I'm successful :)
I purchased them from target to try it out and I am not happy with it at all...I have alot of hair but it just doesn't seem to "work" lol.
The combs on the hair piece itself are very hard to cover and the only way that I have been able to make them look "OK" was to use hot rolers to curl and add volume and then put the bump it in...I would say skip the $10 and try another option...not too satisfied
I haven't tried bump its but I've heard a good buzz about the vidal sassoon poufs. When I first saw the commercial for bump its I started doing some research to see i they are sold in stores when I came across the poufs, the reviews for them seemed more positive than for the bump its and they seemed easier to use. I know you can order the poufs online and in some Ulta stores, but they don't carry them at the one near me :-(
My mom heard from co-workers that it doesn't work because some of them have tried it. I hear that it's not great for people with fine hair.
I have fine hair and it worked just fine on me. Granted, I have a LOT of fine hair. A friend of mine wears them all the time and they look great on her. I looked like a conehead. I ordered them 4 months ago and have NEVER worn them. Boyfriend occasionally puts one on to make me laugh though.........

They look fascinating to me and I'd love to hear if anyone hear has used them.
Thanks!
