I tried it once a few years ago and it was a horrific sticky mess.  Based on that experience, I have no idea how it could possibly work.  At least it rinses off easily unlike wax though.

I use GIGI microwaveable wax and it works great.  Maybe a different wax brand would work for you?

I don’t know how people stand the pain of underarm waxing- I can do bikini area and lip no problem but the underarms are my downfall.

I’ve never made the sugar solution at home, but I do sugar myself. I bought a little kit from Moom, and I love it so much more than wax. Wax usually irritated my skin and left it red for the rest of the day. I tried hard wax and strip wax, and found that hard wax was best for anywhere on my face and bikini area. I tried Moom sugar on a whim, and pitched my wax (I swear I don’t work for them, i just am over the moon happy with their product). I like that i can wash and then reuse the strips, plus if I ever put on too much wax, you can easily wash it off. It doesn’t bother my skin as much. If it helps, I bought the kit at Ulta for under $20, adn I’ve had it for about a year (I mostly do my upper lip, eye brows, and occasionally bikini line. I’ ve done a home brazilian twice – it just takes forever when I do it vs my waxing lady).
