Has anyone used Amazing Bridals on Etsy?

@SecondTimeisaCharm:  I wish I could help but I can’t.  I was searching to see if anyone else had said anything.  I looked at all of the reviews and honestly I only trust one of them — the most recent one with the special order.  The others all have enough oddities in the language used that make me feel as though they are fake reviews.  I understand how difficult it may be to get brides to trust a new bridal shop so I am not sure if there are fake reviews because they have shitty products or fake reviews because they need SOME reviews to sell any products.  Arg.  Commenting to follow to see if anyone else has any feedback.

I was also looking at one of Amazing Bridal’s dresses, a reproduction of a Justin Alexander tea-length dress.

I was just saying to myself how I would order through them. And then just this evening their entire etsy shop has just disappeared. Their website (amazingbridals.com) is still up, but the dress that I wanted has been removed from their website too.

I wonder if they got some sort of copyright notice or something? I’m kind of disappointed, I’d never felt more excited about ordering a dress…. 🙁

Though, I see Dressilyme has the same exact style of dress. I’m wondering if I shouldn’t just bite the bullet and go that route, since it seems as if Dressilyme has a lot of positive reviews.

@soupydoopy:  WHAAAT?  I literally just sent my measurements to Jasmine, the shop owner, today.  Luckily I have not submitted a payment for anything yet.  I had contacted all of her reviewers and everyone had wonderful things to say.  One even sent me pictures of her in the actual dress she received.

@JJBelle:  Yes, it’s quite a shame. I was almost dead-set on ordering a dress from her (once I try on the actual Justin Alexander, that is). It made me sad that the day I find her shop is the day it vanishes from the face of the internet. 🙁 The fates are cruel!

Were the photos that the reviewer sent you nice? Did the dress seem to be of a better quality than most chinese-made replicas?

@soupydoopy:  Yes — they were really great reviews and photos.  They made me comfortable ordering from her, as did the fact that she seemed to have a preference for mermaid/trumpet styles, which mine is.  I actually just sent a message to the email address on the website to ask what was going on.  Even though I should be suspicious, I feel like the reason that the shop is probably no longer in existence is because they were using the stock photos from dresses and just putting their name on top of them.  I doubt it was because of a bad transaction.  I am still considering working with them but I have also emailed a few other sellers (including CaraBridal which was recommended by Barbiestylez in this post: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-review-for-a-custom-made-dress-from-etsy-from-a-brand-new-seller#axzz2psEuKSqu).

I will update this thread if I hear anything.  Siiiiigh.  I was so excited to do this as I have been putting it off and am now getting dangerously close for my May wedding!

ETA: I was originally going to go with Dressilyme but they don’t have my style. When I contacted them about it they told me “We are glad to tell you that we can imitate the dress according to the pictures shown. Because it will be the first time for our dressmakers to copy your dress, the final dress we made cannot be the same as the original pictures shown. Hope you can understand in this matter.”   I was just a bit concerned by this seeing as some have used them for Dressilyme dresses that they have apparently made many times and have not felt they were close to the images.  I may continue this conversation with them again though in light of this unfortunate news regarding Amazing Bridal.

@JJBelle:  Yes. Please let me know if you hear anything back! I am too scared to go through a huge shop like Dressilyme, so I thought that this would be a better option.

Crossing my fingers for the both of us!

@JJBelle:  UPDATE!

I had wrote to them to ask if they still had the dress in question, and they had this to say:

“Other Etsy seller reported to Etsy that some of items with photos are not taken by us so that Etsy suspended our shop.

Our shop can be reinstated after some changes be made. I am contacting etsy to solve the problem, I wish this problem can be solved as earlier as possible. Before the problem is solved, you can order from us by email directly.”

So there’s that. I’m still not sure if I am ready to take that leap of faith and order through them though. I’m a frazzled, nervous wreck about ordering a dress online.

@soupydoopy:  Yes, I also contacted them from the email on the website and Jasmine was the one who responded and said something very similar to what you said.  However I ended up just going with the seller I mentioned before.  Like I said, I’m pretty confident things would have gone well still with Amazing Bridal — I don’t think they are a scam and I feel as though what she said was true — I just kind of took it as a sign.  Good luck if you decide to go with them.  Do you want me to send you the conversations from others?  If so just PM me your email address and I will forward the emails I received, including the photos.

@soupydoopy:  I ended up going with CaraBridal — Barbiestylez wrote about here here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-review-for-a-custom-made-dress-from-etsy-from-a-brand-new-seller#axzz2psEuKSqu.  Here is the link to my custom order: https://www.etsy.com/listing/175144658/custom-made-wedding-dresses?ref=shop_home_active_6.  I did start talking to someone from Dressilyme but after three emails back in forth about needing to see photos — when Olive from CaraBridal wrote  “Yes, we’ll send you the pictures before the shipment. Please don’t worry about. Let me know if there is anything else i can do for you.”  I just decided I didn’t want to play the game anymore with Dressilyme.  Olive was so accomodating about everything and holy wow fast (at responding to messages, and from the timeframe she gave me, at making and shipping the gown)!  I’ll create a post of the whole journey — which I hope is a postive one — after I receive the gown!

I too am interested in CaraBridal.
I was also looking at KarenTrends on Etsy. Does anyone have any experience with her? She seems to have great reviews.

@JJBelle: I Like the dress you picked. I am thinking of sketching one along the same lines, but with straps, since I am worried I will have to pull it up often during the wedding/reception otherwise.
Please keep us updated on your experience with CaraBridal.
