I used Photobook Canada when the Canadian Groupon came out about a month ago and I’m really happy with the photo guestbook we got! The quality is terrific, although the software to make the book could use a few tweaks. I’m really happy with our book though. We ordered 6 Groupons so we could get wedding albums done for ourselves and our families after as well 🙂  For our wedding albums we’ll get the lay flat pages, these were a linen-type paper they use for guestbooks so the ink doesn’t smudge.

(Sorry for the crappy pics, I took them quickly the other day)

I got an email on this today as well and was thinking about it for albums. Does anyone else have any experience. So far I have seen good reviews but I’m still wary.

I bought the Photobook America groupon from San Francisco and also from NYC yesterday.  I haven’t used the groupons yet, but planning to soon.  I’ve been trying to keep an eye on all the photo book groupons as of late, cause it’s great that you don’t have to live in that city to take advantage of them.  I post the ones I find on my blog on photo books and I just celebrated my one year anniversary not too long ago so I’ve been doing a lot of photo books of my wedding and honeymoon. I have a Photobook America review of their software and product on my site as well as info on 26 other photo book companies.  The DIY photo guide for weddings may be of interest – I have blog posts on all the photo-related DIY projects I did for my wedding, including guest sign-in book, photo table numbers, slideshow, animation and more… I’m happy to answer any questions about my wedding DIY projects…b/t/w Ms. Emerald is a good friend of mine and she did a blog post about my site Smile

Did anyone else have issues or become annoyed with actually getting the file to Photobook America?  When I was done completing my album I ordered it.  It then directed me from the software to the website where I entered my voucher code (I had purchased the groupon).  After I paid the balance with paypal it directed me back to the software you use to actual design the book.  It gave me an option of uploading the files or saving them.  So I decided on upload- well then it told me it was going to take 34 hours!  I have highspeed internet- I was shocked.  I know my engagement photots are high resolution and it was 80 pages- but I find it hard to believe other people don’t use high res files and make large books.  so I clicked cancel and chose the “save” option.  I saved it on my desktop. After that it prompted me no more- NOTHING. I had no idea what to do. I got on the website and had a hell of a time finding a phone number that took me to customer service. I did find the User Guide for their software.  At the end it says if you chose to “save” your file you will need to send it to the company. no instruction on how or where to send it.  (At this point I’m annoyed).  So I send an email. I get a response back today saying I have to burn the file and mail it to them- UGH.  At this point I want to upload and wait the damn 34 hours- but I can’t find an option to do that at this point.

I am not in a hurry necessarily- but it really really aggrivates me.

We have slow internet (cable, but the slowest kind) and it did take a long time. I used my high-res jpegs, instead of tiffs, which would have taken days. I set it up to upload overnight.
