I've been checking out this site as well. My family thinks I'm crazy for going with a 'used' dress (some of which are not as you have pointed out), but I feel that I can get a great dress for a lot less and being a 'green' bride by 'recycling' a dress. I haven't heard about them from anyone, but they seem to sell a lot of dresses. I wonder if you could email some of the sellers who have sold their dresses and ask them of their experiences with the buyers. That could give some insight as to whom is on the site. I know there are sites out there where you can check a site's legitimacy, but I cannot remember any of them. Thanks for posting about this site, as I am also curious.
There was an article in the Wall Street Journal that mentioned them earlier this month: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124408090015483831.html
Just to point out that not all the dresses on there have been worn, many are being sold by 2-dress brides who changed their mind before the big day.
I have! I actually just bought my dress through a seller on preownedweddingdresses.com. I definitely recommend it! I got a great deal on a dress that was brand new with tags, and there are quite a few of those on the site if you look around.
I also highly recommend using escrow.com for the transaction process, like preownedweddingdresses recommends.
I had a really good experience! :)
I like that preownedweddingdresses provides the escrow option, unlike oncewed.com and woreitonce.com.
Also, I think it is great you are trying to be more 'green!"
Yep. Just sold my original, brand new with tags dress on that site after months of trying to sell it. It is brand new, never worn or altered and I had to sell it for half what we paid. UGH! So the buyers come out well. I tried eBay, Craigslist, etc., but nothing. Sigh... Anyway, from a seller's POV, I had a very smooth experience with the site.
I bought my dress from yourdreamdress.com, which lists some dresses on preowned. There is also bravobride, powerbride and a couple others. You have to decide with if the seller is reputable. As someone who bought a $4200 dress for $650, these websites are definitely worth a shot.

Hey everyone,
So I hate the idea of spending more than a month of my salary on a dress that I will only wear once. I found preownedweddingdresses.com. I am not a huge fan of buying a dress that someone has worn before (I've heard that once they are cleaned, they never look the same) but there are several brand new dresses on this site of ladies who either chose a different dress or the engagement was called off. Has anyone used this site and had success or failure? Thanks for your help!
