I used Sam’s and it was beyond perfect!  I ordered roses, and followed what the reviewers said on their website to have them delivered Wed rather than Thurs.  I had 120 stems, and used five 10 gallon buckets from Home Depot to store them in the dark air conditioned closet.  They looked a little sad on Wed and even part of Thurs, but Saturday they were pure perfection.

A note though: they don’t de-thorn or anything, so be prepared to do that.  I recommend it 100% though.

I ordered hydrangeas and roses from Sam’s and they were great.  The hydrangeas looked fabulous as soon as I put them in water.  Out of 40, about 4 of them died over the course of the two days before the wedding (so take into account buying some extras).  The roses arrived looking pretty sad, but after a few hours of being in water, they perked right up.  My flowers turned out gorgeous.  I was so proud of them!  I would highly recommend them.

@DIYdisaster: A friend of mine said that she got her flowers from Sam’s Club. She said it was the best wedding-related decission she ever made… they were in good condition and she saved a bundle. 🙂 I hope that helps!

We did use Sam’s for the June wedding (son’s) and the girls arranged their flowers as a team-  calla lillies, yellow tulips, baby’s breath, blue delphinium-  the arrangements came out very nice.

I ordered flowers from Sams for an event (not my wedding). We ordered calla lilies. I definitely agree that you need to have them in water a couple days before to open them up. The facility actually let us have them delivered there and stored in their refrigerator.

I must admit, we did not follow instructions and put them in buckets before the event. But closed callas did not look too bad in slim tall vases.

I would not hesitate to order flowers from Sam’s. I just have not decided on centerpieces yet. Just make sure you have somewhere to store them, friends to help and order sturdy, less delicate flowers.
