Has anyone used s'mores as favors?

Never used smores favors, however I have been to a summer wedding which did offer them. They were amazing! Everyone was thrilled with the idea. The only issue was they had a fire later in the evening and a lot of the guest had left and never got to use them with the group. But this was a blessing because the ones that did stayed (probably a quarter of the guests) were ones that were really close with the bride and groom and it was almost like an after party. We reminisced about the past and it was an amazing end to the wedding.

Just a few words of advice, you don’t need to provide every guest with a chair near the fire but bring lots and lots or blankets, so no one has to sit on the ground. A few girls got their dresses dirty but they weren’t annoyed because they had a great time.

As for the chocolate there was no issue, they used Hershey and it was great. One more thing, make sure to give equal peices of each item in your package. If you are planning to only give each guest one s’more (2 gram crackers, 1 marshmallow and 1 peice of chocolate) that’s fine, but dont give 6 gram crackers, 2 marshmellows and 2 chocolates, like we were given. There ended up being a ton of gram crackers in the garbage, it just ended up being a waste.

Oh my gosh, that is so neat! I think we’re doing 2 bottles of wine and donuts (the local bakery makes them and there was actually a riot when they were talking about shutting down. Riot!) but I love that idea.

No but sounds like a great idea if it goes with your wedding! 🙂

@Osoluvely30:  Just make sure they’re fresh! FI’s company did that for their holiday party, and one of ours had a rock hard marshmallow in it. It even came with a tealight for toasting the marshmallow, which would have been really cute had the marshmallow been edible!

We gave s’mores kits as favors! I got a cute stamp from Etsy that said S’more Love with our names and wedding date!  Each bag had enough to make 2 s’mores in it (4 graham crackers, 2 pieces of chocolate, and 2 marshmallows).  My only advice is to make them less than a week before your wedding.  I made mine too early and had to redo them because the marshmallows were stale and the graham crackers were mushy.

Keep in mind that if you have any vegans, they can’t eat marshmallows.  Some vegetarians avoid them as well.  Otherwise I think it’s cute if you have a fire (very appropriate) or if s’mores have some personal meaning to you and your fi.

@Osoluvely30:  are you going to have an actual fire pit at your wedding? I went to a wedding last summer where there was NO fire pit, and this was their favor…I would say 1 out of every 10 favors got taken home, so was a waste of money.

That being said, we are having a fire pit at ours, and it’s in the running as a favor, haha.
