My mom’s wedding dress was knee length, so I’ll probably be wearing it for our rehearsal/rehearsal dinner. I love the sentimentality of it! But, I wanted my own gown for the wedding day.

@marissal7901:  My mom borrowed dresses for both of her weddings, so that wasn’t an option for me.  When I had my last fitting, a girl came in and the seamstress was taking her wedding dress and creating a corset top for her and a baptism dress for her daughter out of the material.  It looked amazing, and I loved that idea! She used the wedding dress train for the baby’s baptism dress…so it had a little train too.

@marissal7901:  I won’t be wearing my mom’s dress – she got married in 1988 … puffy sleeves just won’t work for 2015 hahaha.

@marissal7901:  I may be wearing my mom’s dress when I get married in 2 years. I have a similar body type as her, but I happen to be about 3 inches taller. . . meaning that I’m probably a bit bigger than she is in width as well. We’re going to see if it fits. If it does I’m going to wear it.

@SummerOfLove:  My parents were married in 1985, but my mom’s dress doesn’t have the big poofy sleeves like a lot of dresses from back then. . . thankfully. Lol! It actually looked quite lovely on her in the pictures, so I have high hopes.

My parents got married in a court house and mom wore a brown corduroy skirt….so, no haha. One of my best friends will be wearing her moms dress though! It looks similar to anne hathaways wedding gown but with lace instead of tulle I think.

My mom wore a blush colored mermaid dress.  She always thought about having it altered into a short dress better never did it.  Im considering having it altered and wearing it as a 2nd dress

@nanikoa:  Very pretty, fits you perfectly! I would get the sleeves altered, or take them off, add a petticoat for some poof in the skirt and wear it, for sure!!

I love my mom’s wedding dress. Unfortunately she doesn’t have it anymore but it was such a pretty, simple lace dress, which is totally my style. If she still had it, I would have had it altered and wore it.

I wanted to wear my moms dress or use it some how. She said it was too ugly for me to wear and too short (I’m 5 in taller). So I am having my veil made out of her dress
