I have a DB BM dress for a friend's wedding. It certainly isn't the highest quality ever, but it does look nice. I am considering using them for my BM dresses, too.
Wanted to add -- I am also excited because it is truly a dress I could wear again, which I think is hit or miss for any BM dresses. (As in, it's not so formal that even in a casual shape, it would be perhaps too dressy to wear anywhere other than another wedding.)
I used DB because my BMs were all in different states, and because the prices were great. I have one of the dresses hanging in my closet right now :) I think they are good quality and look nice.
My Moh wore a DB dress and loved it. It was in our price range and perfect for the day. Here is a picture:
My bridesmaids are all wearing DB. They're great for the price. Everyone loves their dresses and I think they look great.
I've been in a couple of wedding and worn DB dresses. Yes, they aren't as great of quality but whether the dress was from David's Bridal or Jim Hjelm I never wore them again. As long as they look nice, it's not like they have to last a long time.
I think they are great. I always hear bad things about David's Bridal, but I haven't had anything super bad happen. The quality is pretty good, and they have so many options for different body types.
I wore one for my sister's wedding and I really liked it. It was satin, but kinda thick...definitely didn't snag or anything.
I wore a DB dress in a friends wedding. I thought it was a little pricey for what we got, but I liked it.
For my BMs I went to a designer outlet and found them designer dresses for $30/each
I've worn DB dresses in tons of weddings and I had them for my own. They're pretty good for the price, and it's great that they're all over the place in case you have out of town BMs who need to get fitted. I'd definitely recommend.
I've had many dresses from DB. So far, I've not had any problems and loved them all. It seems to me like the dresses vary in quality and in price. I'd recommend them for sure!
I have worn DB and now am having my BM's wear them. I think they are great.
I've worn DB before. I was a pretty good quality. The only real problem I didn't notice until after the wedding. The other BMs had tightened their seatbelts on their dresses to hold them up better and right after the ceremony I noticed their dresses were bunched really bad in back. So watch out for this.
It definitely depends on which dress you choose from David's Bridal; some are better than others. I wore a long black DB's BM dress for a friend's wedding, and it was high quality, but not in a style that I would ever wear again. Anyway, one thing that's helpful is to click on "Read Reviews" or whatever it's called at the bottom of the page with the dress displayed. People seem to be pretty honest about what they think of the dresses-- some they love, some seem to be coming apart at the seams. You can choose to see "Photo Reviews First" as well, which I think can give you a better idea of what the dress is really like than seeing it on the models. Hope that helps! :)
I've worn 3 davids bridal dreses and liked them all!
Good quality for the price. I doubt you'd find much high quality (except for laces and silks) from other more expensive lines. As a 5 time bridesmaid, I always appreciate the cheaper dress! :)
I have worn DB's dresses twice and my ladies are wearing them. They are just fine and great for the price!
I have never worn a NON-DB bridesmaid dress! I think they are great quality and both my wedding dress and BM dresses are from DB. Plus you only wear it once so anything looks good for at least a day!
Yep I've worn a few DBs dresses. I think that since you only wear them once then to spend less is better. I have never thought they looked too cheap in person.
The dresses are a good quality--just watch out for the sizing. I bought a dress for my friend's wedding that was $98 and after alterations it came out to almost $300!!!
Yeah, I have. I think they are pretty good quality.
I didn't have this issue with my dress but I did hear my sister say that her dress had so many layers underneath that it was a big pain to alter the lenght.
Here is a picture of me in my friend's wedding. I'm on the right. Just don't look at my hair, it's hideous. The person who did my hair did not know what he was doing.
Here's another photo. So you can see what my dress looked like. Can you tell we are dancing to the song "Jump on it"?

My MOH is wearing a DB dress for my wedding and she LOVES it! Alterations ARE expensive there so watch out! She is an off the rack 2 though so it worked out haha.
It really depends on the dress. I wore an apple colored satin dress that looked great. But I treid on others that looked super cheesy! Just be mindful of the color and material. Also finding a dress that really fits your maids is important. If the dress is ill fitting it doesn't matter where it comes from.
I'm glad that so many of the Bees have had a good experience with David's Bridal! My experience with DB differed a bit. I wore DB dresses for 2 of the wedding I've been in and I had horrible experiences both times. The staff was rude and unwilling to work with the bride. I waited over 7 months to get a dress in (it came in 2 days before the wedding and I had to wear it unaltered). One of my brides had a maid drop out and she tried to transfer the dress to a new girl, with no success. It was just a mess. Also, the dress qualify is not that good, and I never wore either of the dress again (I did think about making them in to pillows though).
Mine came out great and like the others said they are in all states and the bride who was in Hawaii at the time was able to tell us what to get from there without making us scour dress shops for some obscure style.
We are date twins as well!! And Im getting married in Florida too.. are you getting married on the beach too???
My MOH dress is also from DB. I'm doing the alterations for her myself to save some $$.
I think it depends on the DB dress. I've been to the store and some of the dresses feel a bit cheaper than others. I am using DB for my MOHs. They look nice.
I love that everyone loves DB for their BM dresses. I converted to a bee from the knot and its unreal how they trash talk David's over there. I actually didn't get my BM dresses from there for the simple fact I found them somewhere else and fell in love. I did however buy my dress from there. It's amazing! Not at all what I pictured myself in, but I was amazing when I loved it on! It's so me :) They were so helpful and my experience was really good!
I hated my bridesmaid's dress from DB. My first experience there was okay, but after that it was terrible. My dress had to be ordered, and it was not ordered to fit correctly, and the cost that they were going to charge me to make the dress fit properly was going to cost more than the dress was actually worth. One of my friends who was another bridemaid in the same wedding did pay for alterations at another DB, and they did charge her for over the value of the dress. So instead of getting a bargain or affordable dress, we paid the cost of a designer gown for a poorly made dress. I think if you can walk into the store and actually take home the dress right then it's going to seem like a okay experience, but if you need to order dresses, DB is not the place to go. This experience is not the only experience that I have direct knowledge of problems with the bridesmaids gowns... I have had multiple dresses ordered from other bridal shops and such and never had any issues as dramatic as my experiences with DB.
I wore a DB dress for my brother's wedding. It worked well because the BMs were from three different states - I got in the day before the rehearsal. My mom wanted me to keep the dress (I wore a size too large, the other BMs wore a size small - I was the only one the bride wasn't with), but where else was I going to wear a spring green tea-length sleeveless satin dress?
It was a much better experience for me (despite the size issue) than the wedding where I made the dress. The dress was semi-flattering on all of us, and they were comfortable, and it took me maybe an hour - walked in, gave the bride's name, they found the dress, put me in the dress/slip/sash/shoes/jewelry my SIL wanted, I picked it all up a week later.
I'm using David's because I'm in one state, the wedding is in another, and my BMs are in Cali, Virginia, and England. I just don't see how else I could make it work, logistically.
For the record, though, I'm not making my BMs buy specific shoes or jewelry - I will probably give them jewelry, and suggest shoes (in black, ivory, or matching their dress). The most annoying thing about my SIL's wedding was "Oh, and you can re-wear it!" Um... I loved the style of the shoes, but I've never been able to re-wear them - they were hot pink, and I wear green, brown, blue, and black.
I agree that it depends on the dress. I was in a wedding where we all wore different DB dresses in their pool color. Mine looked pretty cheap in person, but they all looked great in the pictures.

How is the quality of David’s Bridal BM dresses. They all look pretty in pictures and catalogs but I want to know if anyone has experienced wearing a dress from DB? My BMs live in different states so it’ll be easy for them to buy their dress from one bridal store so I’m thinking of DB. Thoughts??
