When I was in a previous relationship, I had a definite idea of what I wanted.  But that totally changed between that almsost engagement and my engagement now.  I think your taste changes as you get older, and as new styles come out.

This is sort of like what I originally wanted.

Something like this is what I ended up with.

I’m waaaaaay happier with my ring!

I don’t know that my taste in rings has changed, but I ended up with a ring that was NOT what I thought I would like at all.

Here are the rings I had pictured for myself:

And here’s what I ended up with  (pic does not do this justice AT ALL)

But I LOVE my ring!  When I put it on, it was so perfect for me!  I really did not like princess cut, but this one is so beautiful on my finger.  I also love the peek-a-boo diamond on the side, it’s like it’s smiling at me all day when I type on my computer at work! Smile

A few years ago (when I was with my ex), I was convinced that I was going to want a three stone ring.  Then I actually saw one on someone’s hand instead of online and I realized that it’s not for me.  When my Fiance and I started looking, I ended up liking solitaires, now I am in possession of a solitaire with a diamond covered band and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  This ring is perfectly “me” and I love it.

Totally! Almost makes me worry that what I *love* right now, I won’t in a few years, since what I wanted 6 months ago is different from what I want now! The first and only time I went ring shopping with my future Maid/Matron of Honor last fall, I fell in love with Verragio rings like this one (although in rose gold):

But after a while, I realized I did not like how the underside wasn’t smooth. Those scrolly things on the inlay would drive my overly-tactile self nuts, I’m sure. And then I found this:

Ahh… I obsessively looked at this picture on Pricescope, daily. But in doing so, I came across these:

Which I am all obsessed with, too. But I’m glad I have several different styles that I like, so that my guy can choose from them and it can still be “his” choice and it will be a surprise, rather than me just pointing to something and say, “I want this!” I still want to have a say in it, but I think giving options evens things out a little more.

Yes, I totally have changed. And I’m not engaged yet. When by Boyfriend or Best Friend and I first started talking about getting engaged about a year ago I just KNEW this was the ring I absolutely had to have!

But now, after looking obsessively at rings for a year or so, I am currently in love with a NEW sparkler.

These are my favorites of the moment, and I never ever thought I would like princess cut. Also, I’ve recently started considering non-diamond e-rings. So unstable, my decisions, haha.

the ring that i got was what i’ve wanted my entire life!!!! He did even better then what i thought i would ever get, so i’m pretty dang excited i get to wear this ring forever. Just for fun i’ve looked at rings and when we go into jewelry stores i always look at rings for fun but i’ve NEVER found anything better then my ring. Like i said its the ring i’ve dreamed of my entire life but even better so i’m pretty happy!!!!
