The 1955 is beautiful! I almost went for that, and got a pretty similar one (the 2008).
How did this work out for you in the fitting? :\
Oh no!!! First off, the dress is beautiful!! I love it!! However, that still isn't going to change your mind. Wear did you order it from? I know its rare but it has happened to my friend who is getting married in September.... Some retailers will allow you to exchange the dress. My friend went through the exact same thing and she was freaking out. They allowed her to bring the dress back and get another dress that was equal or lesser value but she had to find one that fit her off the rack.. Im really sorry your having such doubt about your dress!!
Another thought... as an alternative, if you really can't come to terms with the dress, check out The Limited and other places that have bridal selections. Between online sales and coupons, you could get a second dress for less than $150.
@travelerkate: Wow, I think your dress looks very a-line but I totally understand what you mean. I bought an Ella 5436 and I really wish it was a fit and flare or mermaid silhouette, but I think it's definitely more a-line. It hasn't come in yet but I am making myself sick wishing and hoping that my seamstress will be able to make it into a mermaid fit. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you feel as beautiful as ever in your dress!

Hi Bees,
I am in full blown panic mode. My wedding is less than 2 months away and I am so excited, but I absolutely cannot stand my dress. It never wowed me, but my friends and family loved it, so I said yes. Now, to be fair, I haven't had my first dress fitting (that's Thursday) so maybe I'll change my mind, but all I can think of is it makes my hips look gigantic, and it's more mermaid than A-line like I thought.
I'm going to see about adding a skirt to poof it out a bit, or maybe a sash to accenutate my small waste (and take eyes off my hips), but I just don't know if they'll work. It's now way too late to get a new one, and besides it's already now paid in full.
Dress is Casablanca 1955. Anybody have pics in it? Particularly if you are more pear shaped?
