Are you sure you’re not overreacting? What do FI or friends/family think? Maybe you’re just being too harsh on yourself – I always think I look horrible in photos even when they’re fine. Or if there’s certain poses, makeup, facial expressions, etc that really are unflattering, think of it as a learning experience for the wedding itself and don’t repeat them!

I’m sorry you feel that way! If I were you, I’d give it a few days and wait until you’re not so emotional about it and then revisit them and see how you feel. There’s still time for you to re-shoot if you absolutely have to!

I felt the same way when I saw the sneak peak of my e-pics but I have came around! Just remember that we are our own worst critics – I know that I was picking apart everything about me in my epics but no one else notices that stuff except me.

If you hate your e-pics do you really love your photog? I’m just asking because I really didn’t love our e-pics, and now I’m SO disapointed with our wedding pics… lesson learned a little too late for me.

I went through this too…I think a lot of it was hating how I looked and was more dissappointed with my appearance than the photos themselves

I’m sorry you feel that way! Personally, I am always critical of my appearance, so before I saw our epics, I was prepared to tell myself to take it easy on myself and stop being so nitpicky about how I look.

Oh no!  I’m sure you don’t look as bad as you imagine.  We’re always our toughest critics.  Do you think it was the style that she used to shoot the photo’s?  We got our e-pics done in September, I like my photographer a lot but the pictures were Sooooo lame.  I didn’t feel like I looked good in most of them.  I think sometimes photographers may be better at shooting weddings than engagement photo’s, not sure how that happens.  I’m sorry you were disappointed, at least the wedding photo’s will be FAB :o)

Yes,   give it a few days and go back through with fresh eyes !     I’m a photographer and I seriously hate how I look in half of the photos that are taken of me ( which is why I delete any unflattering ones …. yep …. half my vacation photos are always gone by the time other people see them ) .     Even with my tricks that I know ( such as never facing the camera straight on ,  finding the best light ect. ) , I still wind of the photos of myself that go right to the recycle bin on the computer.

That’s the luxury about an e-session though!    You can make changes to your makeup / hair / figure out poses that are flattering to you ect.  BEFORE your wedding.

Since you are working with the same photographer ( always what you should do ),    make sure to point out the ones you enjoy the most and the one you enjoy the least so they can incorporate what you find flattering into your wedding formals.

I’m curious too what kind of lighting situation you did these in.   For example, did you do studio pictures ?      Outside around Noon ( harshest light unless your photographer finds shade ) or outside in late afternoon/sunset ( sometimes really flattering light if your photographer likes that “golden light ” ).
