I bought a Spanx for under my dress. I wore it to my first fitting last Friday and really disliked it. I went for dinner right after so I was wearing it at the restaurant. I could feel every roll (I'm only 130 lbs but still have some extra chub :) as I sat there. I don't NEED it under my dress and am considering not wearing as I want to be comfortable the day of my wedding.

I just dont understand how everyone LOVES them :-)

This is the one I got... size B (correct size according to the size chart).

try these...so comfy! I wore them under my dress with a corset bra . Pulled the top of the Spanx over the bottom of the bra and no rolling at all. Loved them!

I bought a spanx and hated it too!  I was at my dress fitting last week and put my dress all the way on and was happy with it before I realized I forgot me spanx.  So I took it all the way back off, put on my spanx, and put my dress all the way back on and I couldn't breath!!  So, I am going spanx-less for two reasons.  One, I like to breath.  And two, I don't want to have an extra layer on under my dress, I will be hot enough.

I did not like spanx either. I felt like it didn't do much anyway. I got a bustier with boning to wear under my strapless dresses and my wedding dress instead.

I'm also glad to see some pepole going Spanx-less.  I want to look as skinny as possible, but I don't want to be constantly worrying about it.  Eh, it probably won't make that much of a difference, anyway.

Also, Sunshine - you definitely don't need anything under that dress; it looks fantastic!

Try assets from  Target. It's super comfortable, doesn't really do much compression but helps smooth everything out.

LOL, I bought the same spanx too, and I found that although they give you a nice shape, mine kept rolling down!

You look gorgeous in your dress! Definatly dont need the spanx! Smile

Sunshine, you definitely don't need anything under your dress.  Not only do you look great as is, but that type of bodice looks like it creates a lot of flattening and texture on its own.  So not only will it keep you shaped, but it doesn't have the sort of clinginess that will show every bite you eat.  It's really important to be comfortable, both with how you look and how you feel, but I don't think you need the spanx for the former and they're certainly not helping with the latter.

I hated Spankx too- they did nothing for me. I actually looked worse in them. I had the ones with the panties, and the torso peice. It pushed everything down and all bulged out. nassstay. So I tried a corset- amazing!

I don't love how spanx feels, but I love the effect on my figure.  I go from having a chubby tummy to having a fully defined waste, so for that alone, I'll suffer through wearing them. lol

Halleluia! I have my second dress fitting tomorrow and was stressed that i did not have a chance to purchase. After reading these reviews I think I'll just keep with some sittups and bit o pudge :)

I bought one to wear under a dress at someone's wedding a few months ago - I hated it!!  I refused to pee through the little hole since I was afraid that I would pee all over it after too many drinks - TMI, I know!!  And since I unclipped the parts that attacked to my bra, it kept rolling down.  i went up to the hotel room during dinner and took it off.

I never had any rolling issues but they are uncomfortable... Somehow they do make me feel thinner though. I won't be wearing anything under my dress though... to me spanx are too thin to really do anything under a heavy wedding dress... I would much rather do a corset if I were to wear anything.
