I've been casually looking (just skimming the web...no ring yet) at venues, and thought I'd found the perfect place. Only there are two problems.

One, I'm not sure if they'd be open to weddings. It's a national park and from what I can tell, there hasn't been one there before.

Two, there's a ghost bride that haunts the grounds. http://www.ghosteyes.com/haunted-place-chickamauga-battlefield I'm pretty sure that might be bad luck, like I'm encroaching on her grounds. lol

I'm a huge wuss when it comes to anything that might be haunted. I couldn't do it, it would be in the back of my mind.

I worked a place that I swear was haunted.  I quit becasue I couldn't handle it.

I dont know if I could do a place that was haunted.

MY FI was interested in a few places in Savannah and I was like NOPE it's apparently one of the most haunted cities out there.

No way... but I am a big chicken.

That is so cool!  I found a haunted hotel, and I wanted to stop there after the wedding, and FI said no.  It was like this:

Me: "But look how cheap it is to stay there!  And so cute!"

    Him: "Yeah, because it's haunted."

Me: "Only sometimes.  It'd be fun!"

Him: "You want to spend your wedding night alone?  Yeah, that's what would happen."

Me: (Exaggerated sigh) "Fine.  can we go at least explore and eat in the restaurant?"

Him: "YOU can.  I'll eat at the non haunted place across the street."

Me: (muttering) "It won't save you, I'll tell the ghost where you're hdiing."

    Him: "...would that even work??"

And I dissolved into laughter.  He's such a man's man about stuff, but he has no tolerance for the supernatural.  Ghosts or otherwise.

That's pretty cool-- I'd look into it if the price was right and all that.

Oh wow, that would be my dream venue!  I love all things paranormal and can't wait for the season premiere of Ghost Adventures tonight!  Just make sure you get the ghost bride's "approval" on everything so she'll stay happy and won't haunt you for the rest of your life, lol!

I think that's awesome. Add some atmosphere to the whole thing! I love ghost stories and haunted places. It would be so unique!

ok...I just read that article. You should not let your guests in on the legends. Then, see if anyone has any strange encounters. That would make for some great stories!

I don't know if I necessarily believe in ghosts, but I LOVE ghost stories. The history of it is just so fascinating. People will probably know the history a bit, so why hide it? I say let it be a detail, but not a theme. Maybe give people a little printout or something.

And just to be safe, give an offering to Old Green Eyes.

Oh man. We tried really hard to get married at a place in StL called Lemp Mansion. It is really, really haunted. In the end, we couldnt make it fit into the budget.

Go for it! I would so go to a wedding at a haunted Civil War battlefield.
