@aleachay:  Congratulations! I’m super fond of that date because it’s my parents’ wedding anniversary.

Us? We chose our date because it was available at our reception venue and worked for our families. Happily (I hope) since it was winter, we had the choice of dates at local churches. We didn’t keep it a secret, but we didn’t make a huge date announcement, either. We did, however, keep the engagement secret for a few days, just to savor the moment, so I definitely feel you on that front.

We had our date for several months before telling anyone – we only told them just before the save the dates went out. I think keeping it quiet gave us time to organise what we wanted. Plus, as it turned out, my OH got ill and we had to change some of our plans which was easier without everyone else knowing 🙂

What a fabulous date you’ve chosen, there 😉

We’re still in school, so it had to be a summer, and FI had military training next summer, so it had to happen between that and school starting again… That left us 2 or 3 Saturdays to choose from! And I liked August 2. Just a 2. Plain ole 2. For some reason I like the single digit. Weirdo. Haha
