So I hardly get pimples. Occasionally I get them on my face and they pop (i dont pop them, they might pop on their own like when I am washing my face). The problem is when I get a pimple i just let it go its course and it goes away…usually takes a few weeks until there are NO remnants of it. (sometimes it leaves a little mark where it was after it popped but then it goes away).
PROBLEM: I have a pimple now on my chest where my clevage starts. LOL weird place…probably from working out and sweating in my sportsbra im assuming? (I work out religiously 5 days a week and am always pouring sweat).
The pimple keeps getting bigger and looks like it could pop. Is there anything I can do to accelerate this process? Wedding is 9 days away and I want it to pop and heal before then! UGH!! LOL thanks sorry if this seems TMI just need help! 🙂

@HeLovesDogs: I pop them any time I get them and I don’t have any scars. You just have to pop them properly and then putting something on it for redness/swelling.

@HeLovesDogs: Try ice to reduce the swelling around the area, keep it clean, and use an acne spot treatment. I recommend that my clients use Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. It’s a high percentage of salicylic acid and it’s relatively inexpensive (about $7 for a tube). It’s in the silver tube with the purple lid. Make sure the area is clean before you put the spot treatment on there.

Im not a big fan of the acne spot treatment because I feel like it discolours my skin.
I usually use polysporin and that helps

I saw something on Dr. Oz one time. He said to let them go away on their own if at all possible. However, he said if you HAVE to pop it, to use a pin versus squeezing it. He demonstrated why by having two balloons filled with whipped cream. He squeezed the first balloon until it popped and the whipped cream exploded all over the audience. He then took a pin to pop the second one and it just deflated. Using a pin reduces the chances of scarring.

Go to a dermatologist ASAP and ask for a cortisone shot in the pimple. I’ve done it many times and the pimple goes down significantly in a few hours and is usually gone in a day.

Sounds weird, but start downing water like no one’s business. That usually helps my skin, including any pimples, clear up pretty fast.

Put some OTC acne medication on it… something with benzoyl peroxide like Persa Gel (Clean and Clear makes it I think).
Don’t pick at it.

Oh no! I’m so afraid of this happening to me! I use a benzoyl peroxide spot treatment as salicylic acid has never worked too well for me. I’ll use that religiously for 4-5 times a day if I get a big one and it’s usually gone within a few days. DO NOT touch it, pop it, mess with it period. And I second the water too!

That pimp is going to be annihilated if you try all of these methods at once! LOL… Most important… don’t stress about it. Stress leads to more pimps.

I agree with the benzoyl peroxide suggestions, and 9 days is plenty of time for it to go away on its own IF you don’t aggravate it!
In the meantime, it might be good to use an acne face and/or body wash in case you’re having a stress breakout.

This is weird but I’ve put vicks chest rub on a huge zit that was one of those with no head/no chance of popping/under the skin/hurts like hell zits I had on my face and it cleared up within 48 hours without popping it.

Take an Advil Liqui-Gel and stick it with a pin/needle and sqeeze it out onto your pimple. Takes the swelling down super fast. It’s what makeup artists use during fashion shows and places where they need an instant fix.

@Artificial-Sweetener: haha i’m laughing out loud at my desk because you called em pimps. that’s funny to me, for some reason.
OP, instead of trying to get it to pop, try and get it to go down. i use toothpaste and i find it dries those bad boys out like none other. also, a friend just recently told me to do this:
2. boil water or heat it in a kettle then put your face (or chest) over it with a towel over your head (don’t get too close to the the water obviously… this is just meant to steam your pores!)
3. once the pores are opened, use a cleanser.
apparently if you do this for a week your skin is amazing!
