Bees, I’m on CD50 of an incredibly long cycle, no temp shift. I’ve had O pains on and off all month on the left side, but no O. I wrote in an earlier post that I’ve started getting tested for PCOS, so I’ve just kind of been waiting for AF to arrive whether I O or not.
Well, this morning, the strangest thing happened. Has never happened to me before. I got out of the shower and noticed that I was GUSHING what appeared to be water. Like, streaming down my legs gushing. Probably for about a good half hour, I’d wipe it off and then a few minutes later, with no effort/pushing, water would just start streaming down my legs. I showed my husband and he was dumbfounded. I should also mention that I have throbbing pain on my left ovary side today.
I headed off to work with a panty liner and now after peeing, I realize that I’m also spotting very, very lightly.
Anyone know what the H IS GOING ON!

@lovelyrose: no idea whatsoever, ordinarily I’d take any fluid that was clear to be a discharge but your description of it gushing through me off.
Im not sure the relationship or how accessible your OB is, but I would consider talking to them about the pain. I spot after discharging sometimes, but its just a simple discharge, nothing that ever comes out like a waterfall as you describe. Just to note, Im not TTC and am on the BCP.

@lovelyrose: you’re going to think I’m nuts…but is there any chance you are currently pregnant? When’s the last time you tested? To me, the gushing water sounds like someone’s water breaking. This is a huge leap, by the way, but it’s the only thing I can think of.

My only thought is sometimes around ovulation I can get a day or two of very watery cervical mucus! I know you said you are on CD 50, and I guess you are temping? Hmm… I would mention it to your Gyno, especially if the spotting doesn’t stop! If theis cycle proves to be annovulatory, then you may want to check with your Dr about helping to force start your period.

@IAmTheShadow: +1 this was my thought too. Sounds crazy, but it does happen! Definitely worth a call to your OB.

@IAmTheShadow: I was thinking that, too!
Definitely give your OBGYN a quick call!

@IAmTheShadow: Totally like water breaking! That was my first thought, too, but then I thought, impossible – no water to break!
I tested yesterday morning and BFN! I think if it persists through tomorrow then I’ll make an emergency visit to my OBGYN. Thanks for all of your responses!

I experienced something similar and it was followed by bleeding. Turns out, I was having an early miscarriage. Hoping you receive good news!

I carried to term and when my water broke both times, it never gushed out like that.
You wouldn’t be filled with that much amniotic fluid that early in pregnancy.
Have you considered a cyst that burst? Sometimes cysts can delay a period and burst, cause pain, gush fluid.

@lovelyrose: Yikes, I have no idea! My gut reaction was the same as other bees (didn’t know she was pregnant???) but you said you got a BFN yesterday, so that’s a stumper….
I think I would probably be on Google all day if I were you – I’d Google it right now, but I’m at work and don’t want “gushing fluids from my vag” to be on my search history! 😉
I really hope you go see your doc, or that it just clears up on its own and was just a random fluke event!

@lovelyrose: Gushing sounds pretty serious. I would not wait until tomorrow. I would be in there today!

@lovelyrose: def go see your doctor and keep us posted!

I have PCOS and I’ve never gushed clear fluid (only super heavy period flow). I would call your OBGYN ASAP.

Whoa! First time I am hearing of this. Go to the doc. Fast! And keep us posted! Hope everything is okay. Fingers crossed for you.

Okay, went to ER for a transvaginal ultradound and bloodwork. Was told I had a ruptured cyst, but also a large follicular cyst that appears ready to burst. Prescription for pain meds if necessary and instructions for lots of BD since it finally appears I may be Oing.
Thanks for the support, ladies!
