I was wondering if any of the Bee’s who have IBS tried pro-biotics? My doctor prescribed an over the countre pro-biotic to me called Floristar. I havn’t tried it yet because I’m always paranoid about trying new things but this is a natural ailment so I shouldnt be scared. Has anyone tried this pro-biotic or any other kinds? Please share!

Doesn’t work for me at all. I use a prescription called Hyomax and it is the only medicine that consistently works for mE. IBS can be so awful, I hope you find something that works with your body.

@sweetchiquita12: Yogurt/pro-biotics don’t have the same effect on people with IBS as they do on “normal people.” Our digestive systems are just not normal. In some people, pro-biotics can even trigger IBS attacks.
Edit: Wait, apparently some people with IBS have found benefits from probiotics. You have to take them everyday though.

I have pretty minor IBS, and don’t really do much for it. I’ve used probiotics to help if I’m consuming more lactose than I should, if I’m taking antibiotics, or if I’ve had diarrhea for a few days. I came across something recently that shows you need at least 6 strains (I think that was after taking antibiotics).
I do find they help.
