don’t know how else to describe it, but I’m just wondering if any brides started to incorporate elements of their big day after the wedding. for example, do you find yourself wearing more make-up or getting dressed up more?

Nope… in fact, Im sitting here in my same old jeans and hoodie that I typically put on to hang out around the house, no makeup, hair in a ponytail. And hubby and I have been eating the leftover cookies and cake…. On my wedding day morning, the last thing I wanted to do was to get in that dress and those heels, because I wasn’t feeling too chipper. (Nerves and stuff) But when I look at the pictures now I’m glad I did all the special touches. I wish I could go back and re live it without the nerves and everything!
I do think that maybe some women, who didn’t wear makeup prior to their wedding day, and gained the knowledge and confidence from wearing it on their day, could fall in love with the idea of incorporating it into daily life. Im pretty low maintenance day to day, but like to get dressed up and done up occasionally, so nothing has changed for me, but I get your point of how some women may adopt different attitudes or styles from their wedding day. It’s fun to re invent yourself a bit!

No…in fact, I think I dressed up less! 😛 But I can see how one might…especially after getting a makeup lesson from their wedding planning though. 🙂

Well, I’m not married yet… but, I don’t see this happening to me. I seriously doubt that I’ll want to do my hair and make up above what I do now, and I think it is a perfectly good waste of nice clothes to get dressed up for no reason. I don’t think getting married is going to change this for me. lol
In fact, I’ll probably cut my hair to something shorter once we’re back from the honeymoon. Right now my hair is just past the middle of my back, and while I love it, it is a pain to style quickly other than ponytail, bun, or braid.

I pay more attention to my nails. my previous look of having really short ungroomed nails looked kind of bad with a sparkly ring. nothing fancy (I don’t grow my nails long or anything), but they’re groomed and nicer looking most of the time now.
@MrsWBS: LOL, I was thinking of making the same joke. I gained 15 pounds, isn’t that what you’re expected to do after? I recently lost 20, so now I guess I actually look better than before the wedding.

No, but after seeing all the stuff on the internet I feel a little more pressure if I host a shower. They used to be fairly low key events where the food would be a little fancier than other parties, but the decorations and overall theme you see online is way above that!
