I never notice the chairs except if they are covered or very uncomfortable.  I personally find chair covers very irritating,  they look nice but are not comfortable, especially if it gets warm in the venue or I have on a long dress.  Don’t spend money on chair covers.

I don’t really notice chairs – as a guest, I get annoyed with chair covers sometimes, as I find they can be uncomfortable or get in the way.

The only time I remembered the chairs was at an outdoor wedding where the seats were dirty and we had to wipe them off dirst.  I never notice chair styles.

I’d rather have an ugly chair at a wedding than have said ugly chair covered up and made uncomfortable. But the only chair I noticed was the one at my wedding. They were brown… but super comfy and I didn’t feel bothered enough to cover up (since they basically just blended into the background)

I’ve never even noticed the chairs.  My reception venue had less than gorgeous chairs and they weren’t the right color, but I didn’t care one bit… left them uncovered and nobody else noticed (if they did they didn’t care enough to mention it to anyone).

@Mee:  I dont notice the chairs. Unless it has a slip cover on it or something tied to it. If it was just a plain chair I would not pay any attention to it.

Pretty much every wedding I’ve gone to has had “ugly” brown folding chairs or scuffed-up office meeting chairs. I don’t think I could care if you paid me.

My wedding had gorgeous chairs IMO, but that’s what the venue had! They were a mix of blonde and cherry wood folding chairs. This is not a good pic of the wedding (everyone’s getting up to see the cake cutting) but it shows the chairs:

I rented chairs for the outdoor party portion and they were ugly brown folding chairs and we also borrowed CAMP folding chairs, and no joke, I thought they were a better choice for a lawn party than something fancier because I didn’t want to get anything nice dirty.

Before I planned my own wedding, I never noticed chairs. Now I ALWAYS notice chairs.

There is only one thing I care about in a chair:  Can I easily hang my purse on the back?  If the back of the chair is rounded, that means I’ll have to shove my purse under my chair or the table, which I find surprisingly annoying.

I couldn’t care less about the color of the chair or whether it’s covered.

Depends on the venue, but I’ve seen some seriously UGGGG chairs. Like in a beautiful ornate ballroom and then the chairs are from the 80s…just kills it! But I’m picky. 🙂

@Mee: I don’t notice chairs. Except this one time they had chair covers. They were AWFUL. Hate hate hate hate HATE chair covers. So uncomfortable.

ETA: This is excluding those horrid 80s-90s office chairs with carpet on them. Yes, it’s not fabric, it’s carpet. They’re awkward. Avoid those.

My chairs are going to be ugly :-/

I was going to rent chiavari because they’re gorgeous. But they’re 8 dollars a chair.

Instead I will be going with the chairs the venue has. Luckily they’re comfortable but they’re ugly as hell, even with the covers.

I’ll be honest. I notice them, but I judge the chair and not the bride & groom, if that makes sense? I know that they’re cheaper, sometimes the only option, and sometimes even more comfortable than the prettier ones, but I’m not going to lie… I notice them.
