Weddingbee boards
Just wondering if anyone has ever stumbled on someone they knew (in person) while in the boards? Did you tell them?
I just always wonder how many of you actually know each other in "real life."

haha I was just thinking the same thing, since I don't know anyone in real life (but I've been wondering if any of the newly engaged ladies that I know have joined and we have yet to find each other :) )
I did. It was really strange/funny. I did not reveal myself to her, though.
i wonder that too!! i only know one friend that *could* be on here. (if you are, and i think you know who i am (my screenname), come out come out wherever you are!! )
Oh gosh, not that I know of! I put an effort into keeping my identity a secret though because I'll sometimes come to the boards with personal conundrums and problems that I wouldn't want my friends and family to read. I sometimes find comfort in talking to people who don't know who I am!
I have a friend who just got engaged that would recognize me by my picture. I don't think she has really started looking at this yet though because she is really busy with working and school this semester.
I haven't, a few of my friends are engaged, but one is pretty far along, I don't think she has the time to be stalking wedding websites like I do (mostly because I do it at work.... shhhh don't tell my boss!). The other friend JUST got engaged. I think both would recognize my screenname because it's something from my husband....
Yep. One i knew from college so i congratulated her over on FB. The other was my roommate from college and she is the SIL to a bee, and therefore makes appearances in several posts. Not weird at all, but perhaps that's because i knew them first.
Nope. I want to tell people about the bee but I haven't because I don't want them to recognize me. I've put some things out here that I don't what them to see. But there don't seem to be a ton of people from my area anyway.
Nope, but I sometimes wonder if anyone is a friend-of-a-friend or an acquaintance. Most people don't reveal too much about their lives on here, though, so it's usually hard to tell. How weird would that be, though?
no, and i don't want to. my fi and i were talking to friends of his who were getting married, and he told the bride to be about weddingbee because i'm always on it and it's been so helpful to me. i could have killed him! luckily she wasn't interested. she didn't need help, her mom's planning her wedding.
I was really hoping to never recognize anyone, but I actually recognized someone's FI recently. I am from a small-ish town, and if more of them start popping up, I am outta here! I will flat out start over with a new name and get this one deleted. There is way too much gossip 'round these parts!
Not on here, but I was recognized by someone on theknot before. To make matters worse she e-mailed me to tell me and this was a college aquaintance that I had never gotten along with well and I did not want to reconnect. I like my anonymity on the bee.
I know one person on here (I told her about this sight, so I knew she was on here!). We used to hang out all the time and stuff, but we don't ever see each other anymore. We have a lot of mutual friends though.
oh! I have been recognized by someone on the boards and she sent me a pm, does that count? We went to middle school together and now she's on WB. Also, my cousin in on the boards. But I guess weddingbee doesn't count as real life right? ha
I'm with Bamboo. I want to tell my sister about WB, but I don't want her to figure out who I am.
The only person I know in real life who I know on the boards is the person who recommended weddingbee to me. I do wish I'd picked a better username so I was a little more anonymous to the people I tell to join!
i have recognized a college friend, and was introduced by another friend, so i know 2 total people on here. I may know a third, but if she has a SN, i don't know it.
I haven't personally met any one...but I was on facebook one day and I saw the Bee's very own Powderpuff as a friend of one of my friends. It look me a while to figure out where I knew the picture from...but once I got it I was like, how does he know Mrs Powderpuff!
Two people have recognized me! I don't really try to keep myself so secret (obviously since I post pictures of myself), but ironically neither recognized me from a picture anyways. One of them (my FI's boss's wife) saw my ring when it was featured on the gallery of the day and recognized it; the other saw a post I had about being a recent lawyer in Columbus, did some digging to see if she knew me because she just graduated a few years ago... and she did!
I don't really mind because I make a conscious effort to not bitch about anything on here I wouldn't bitch about in real life (although, I'm pretty blunt in person so it doesn't really restrict me too much heh).
Also, my MOH knows about weddingbee because I told her, and I have sent her links to some of my posts. None of these people have usernames though, they are all just lurkers :)
I don't know anyone on here. I hope that I don't since sometimes I use my personal experiences in my replies.

I recognized someone once, well actually her FI - but I'm afraid that me commenting that I knew her FI scared her away! :( The only other people I "know" are people I have sent to WB! (Hi Nikki, Sarah, Alex and Andrea!!) :)
I had a friend who I introduced to the site call me and go, "are you decemberbride on weddingbee?". I was shocked! I don't know why, though, seeing as I post pictures of myself ;-) He's not a member, though, he just reads the boards. Hi, Vic!
I've never recognized anyone from the Hive (I'm bad with recognizing people though), nor has anyone recognized me - as far as I know! My FI's coworker, who's engaged, found *him* on Weddingbee though, when she saw him in our engagement pictures!
Nope! I told one girl about it, but long story short, she is marrying a friend of my husband's, and that guy did some very shady, weird things (rumormill high school stuff - involving ME!) so my hubs dropped him like a sack of bricks. If she's on here, I don't know it.
My friend introduced me to weddingbee... and then a few months later I recognized her from her posts about her wedding dress on the boards. I think it's kind of weird to recognize ppl who you know on here b/c sometimes the fact the weddingbee is pretty anonymous can allow you to talk about pretty personal stuff. When you recognize someone who you know in real life it takes away a lot of that anonymity.
haven't recognized anyone yet...I did find another member that works at the same institution as me though! Though we haven't actually met yet.
I know one person and she's a bee...we've known each other for years! She's the one who introduced me to this wonderful land called Weddingbee.
Haha, how's this for a creepy "I love Weddingbee too much" story. I am absolutely positive that once in the city I used to live in, I saw the fiance of one of the Bee bloggers who also lived there while I was out and about doing errands. I had this really weird moment of "WHY do I recognize that guy?!?!" and then realized. I felt like I should really take a break from the Internet after that.
No, and hopefully it stays that way. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about what I vent on about, or think of.

I followed Mrs Cowboy Boots blog for a while. Not the entire blog just random posts. Then when I saw a couple of pictures I had seen before I was raking my brain trying to remember where I saw the pictures and why they looked so darn familiar. Well low and behold then I saw a pic that had Mr Cowboy Boot in it and he and I went to college together and are the same year and have mutual friends.....HAHAHAHAH I don't know Mrs Cowboy Boot but it sure is a small world!!!!!!
PS - the pix looked so familiar b/c they are on Mr Cowboy Boots facebook page!!!!
I haven't met anyone in person, but I did recognize someone's user name and knew she went to the same college as me. As far as I'm aware, we did not know each other (might not have even been there at the same time). Haven't asked her about it, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
Haven't recognized anyone yet but it is always fun to find people who live in your area! And other Florida girls here??? :)
A vendor once recognized me from here... I was a little embarassed, but lets face it, someone was bound to... Since she was the coolest vendor we had, I didn't mind a bit!
