Dearest Bees – I’d like your help:
I am going to include directions to our ceremony coming from all directions in our invite. Our Out of Town guests are being shuttled to the ceremony and reception so won’t need to worry about transit. Do I also include a map too? When you have received a map with an invite did you use it?
I’ve so many cute and pretty ideas for invite maps and they look so adorable, but I don’t want to spend the money on them if they aren’t going to be USED. Thoughts?

No, I’ve never used one. I’m a Google Map/GPS person.

All the time. Although what I find to be more helpful than a picture map is written directions. Anyone who is not familiar with that particular area will be using the map so you need to provide something to ensure they get to the correct location.

I do find them helpful, but in this day and age everyone has a smart phone or a GPS too. And there’s always a good old fashioned Road Map

I put maps in my invitations, too! Mine was very simple, though. Not sure how detailed you’d want yours to be but for Out of Town guests, especially older people, they may find it easy to use your directions. Here’s mine:

No I use google maps or from now on our new GPS the FIL’s got me!

I would only consider including a map if there’s no available wifi/3G reception. And maybe for people who are technologically unsavvy. I’ve never used a wedding map – my iPhone gets me where I’m trying to go just fine.

I’m a big fan of maps, but not so much the paper kind in the invite. We added an interactive wedding map to our website for our out of town guests.

we’re putting a map but it’s basically whimsical and just a cute add-in (a little “story of us”) i would say that directions and the address are generally sufficient

Actually, there are a number of people who do not have smartphones or GPS systems. So you cannot rely on that idea to be fact. Especially if you have any older guests.
