I went to the salon the other day to have mine done. It ended up costing $10 and the girl who did them did a pretty shoddy job in my opinion. Tweezing for me only ends up in lots of sneezing and an extremely runny nose and watery eyes. So frustrating.
So, I’m curious, do any of you wax your own eyebrows at home? Would you recommend it?

I’ve been waxing my own eyebrows for years. It’s pretty easy, not to mention cheap. You can get little wax kits at the drugstore for around $10 and they last for over a year. It’s a bit difficult the first few times, but you get used to it.

I get the little sugar kits at CVS and it’s always been fine! I put a little bit of tea tree oil on the red area after I’m done so I don’t get the bumps.

I started doing this, but I’m definitely not as good as the girls in the salon, yet. I guess I’ll keep practicing…

I can’t do it myself but I have my mom do it for free and I love it. The only bummer is I can’t just get it done any time I want.

i’ve only ever done it myself. it’s easy peasy – i’ve been doing it since high school!

haha, oh this brings back some memories.. I used to, the summer after my sophomore year of college… I was using something from Sally’s. The night before I was supposed to fly out to AZ to spend 1.5 weeks with my now Fiance & his family, & go on a trip with them to the Grand Canyon, I went to heat up the wax in the microwave. I had done it before no problem, but that time, everything went wrong. Put it in for 30 sec.. not hot enough. Put it in for another 30.. still not melted etc.. Put it in for another 30, pulled it out, was crazy hot, dropped it, and spilled hot wax all over my fingers & on the kitchen floor.
Ended up having minor shock or something I guess, since I got really dizzy/nauseous & then passed out on the kitchen floor, waking up to my little brother saying my name.. haha. Had to go wake my parents up and my mom took me to the ER. Funny thing was I was JUST telling my bf/now Fiance how I was going to make such a good 1st impression with his dad, parents typically love me, and his dad is a colonel in the army so I was really wanting to make a great first impression.. sure enough my 1st impression was getting off the plane witth some of my left fingers all wrapped in gauze.. his family jokingly called me gauze hands the rest of the trip.. haha.
So.. if you do it yourself.. be careful! Haha, I haven’t touched wax ever since.. I probably should have used some sort of cloth or towel or something to take it out of the microwave!

@kt23525: Aww, man! That sucks! I use a warmer that I bought from Sally’s, so it’s easy to check if it’s too hot.
