I wish! I have won 2 thing locally though- DH won my ering by writing about "why I deserve it the most" -it was a local contest on the radio. I won some tickets once to a local big-time waterpark. Those were both in the last couple years... it is something! I would love to win a trip though!!!!
Once, in first grade, I won a bike. It was at a 4th of july bike rally in our neighborhood. They were picking the name and I literally knew they were going to pick me. I walked up there before my name even came out of their mouth. I'm very... aggressive lol!
I won a minor prize...entered the MLB.com sweepstakes for World Series tickets and won a $25 gift certificate.
I won one on WB but my internet was off during that time so I lost out :(
I just won a fancy cuff bracelet from a contest on one of my favorite food blogs :)
That's about it though. Im not usually a winner. :/
I haven't but one of my best friends is a "sweeper" (she enters sweepstakes as a hobby). She's won SOOO much stuff since she started over a year ago. Her biggest win was a Kawasaki motorcycle worth more than $5k but she's also won tons of clothes and accessories for her daughter, expensive home goods (she won a $300+ area rug a few weeks ago), popular tech gadgets, etc. She's a SAHM so she considers "sweeping" to be her job. It takes time but it can pay off in the end.

But yes, I won a BIG sweepstakes once a long time ago sponsored by Pizza Hut & Sony Playstation....
@UpstateCait: How many sweeps per week would you say your friend enters? I'm just curious to see how many times people have to enter before they win something.

I have never won anything. Even at after prom in high school, they claimed everyone won something. I didn't. Sad.
@bakerella: & @Bichon Frise: It was definitely a crazy time! Made a lot of mistakes, should've invested some, and now have nothing to show for it except some fond memories, lol.
I've always wondered if people actually win those contests on store receipts where you call or fill out a survey online.
I've won a lot through blogs over the last few years. I wrote about winning my wedding gown today on the main page. I won a few more things that I'll probably blog about in the future.
Through design blogs, I've won countless pillows, a beautiful ipad cover, gift certifercates to use online (most of my Le Creuset stuff was bought with those), a Shabby Apple dress (fit was terrible, I donated it).
I'm totally hooked on blog giveaways. I love them!
I read about people winning trips and I'm so curious about how they do it.
EDIT: I forgot! I did win a trip once! I won a VIP trip to Bonnaroo back when it was a very new festival. I won it from a radio station and they also gave me a ton of camping gear.
@AudzinLuv: Ah no :( They always say though that most people who win large sums of money often spend or give it to family and don't set much or any aside. I think it's a pretty common thing that happens.
I won a cooking class (haven't booked it yet though), a 50/50 draw at a fundraiser (a couple hundred bucks), and an essay contest when I was in elementary school for a little at home green house, LOL! Dh says that I won him. I don't know whether to say "Awww" or roll my eyes at him ;)
ETA- Mink reminded me, I won a print from blik by some artist, it's pretty cool!
I won a $5000 sweepstakes last year from Conde Nast (magazine publisher). It included a 3D LED Samsung Tv, a $1600 watch (men's so I gave it to FI), and lots of other stuff totalling $5K. It was pretty amazing and our old tv broke about a week before the new one came so it was perfect timing!,
I've won a few things through radio call ins and giveaways at work. I won a yacht cruise with unlimited beer and fresh made sushi that went on the Potomac during Cherry Blossom festival through a local radio station. Thats about the most exciting thing I've won, but it was pretty awesome!
Yeah I won concert tix to see Toni Braxton and Kenny G many moons ago. It was thru a local newspaper. My friend won 4 tickets to Hawaii and she took me on that trip. Whoohooo!

Since Christmas is around the corner, it seems like every website has a sweepstake going on where you can win awesome prizes. I've entered a few contests just for fun. Has anyone ever won anything this way? If so, what did you win? I would love to hear stories.
