@rel318:  I won shoe decals (big deal right?) and free bridal bouquet. However, when the florist found out that I had already booked another florist she took back my prize…grrr!

@rel318: Last year I went to a wedding expo and was entering in all the contests I saw. I ended up winning my MOH’s bouquet from a local florist! Obviously it’s a way to drum up more business for the rest of the bouts, corsages, tables, etc but still pretty cool to win something.

So naturally ever since, I’ve been entering in other contests I find online lol. Hopeful I can win something else wedding related! It will not only take a cost off our plate but also an item/service I can cross off my long to do list!

@rel318:  Ugh that stinks, why would they allow it to expire in 3 months!? I say they should still honor it! I mean even if you were to get married within a year of winning, it would expire so shortly after? That’s not right at all!

@rel318:  LOL, yes I know what you mean! It doesn’t hurt to ask though! The first time I went dress shopping I was by myself. And actually it was really nice to pick out and try on what I wanted to without having anyone with me to pressure for dresses they thought I liked! It was a really small bridal store by my house though, DB can be more pushy. Just hold your ground!

I went to a Bridal Expo with my sister last June (I got married in October) and I entered every competition I could find. I won  ‘the opportunity’ to go into the draw and win a bridal gown…um no. I did win dance classes. Two half hour dance classes or one hour dance class. By the time I realised I’d won it was the day after.. :/ Oh well.

@KingsDaughter:  I don’t know, I was quite irritated. Would have saved me $200, that isn’t anything to overlook. I even got the approval from our current florist who had no issues with it. I was peeved and should have left a review. I still see her advertising at the local wedding shows so I know she is still around.

@rel318:  As a bride I didn’t enter any contents, because I’m also a wedding vendor in the only bridal show I would have attended during my engagement. I definitely took advantage of leaving my booth during the show to go book a few of my vendors who were offering “show specials”. That being said, most of the vendors at our bridal show do giveaways. I always give away an engagment session each year. Collectively, our bridal organization gives away a dream wedding worth A LOT. It’s a totally legit thing, and always pretty amazing to watch the girls win.
