When I went to try on my dress I told the lady about the “Bubble Veil” I was going to have custom made for my dress.
She told me in “…ALL THE YEARS…” (Yakitty-Yak) she has basically told me she had never heard of it. Then I proceeded to tell her it was in hopes of minimizing the appearance of my back tattoo for my mother’s wishes; for the ceremony. My hair will be down, covering a lot as well.
Have you ladies heard of a Bubble Veil?!
Its just a double layered veil with a “bubble hem like bottom”. The lady just made me feel like it was totally not existent! I just wanetd to make sure it wasn’t TOTALLY out of the norm! And I am not loving something “made up” lol. I really love the volume and fullness!
Here is an example of one. I would change the pearls into something that would match the detailing on my dress. The length of the veil would be customized to go down to the beading of my dress, but high enough not to cover it!

This bubble veil was used in J Crew ad, though it is not made or sold by J Crew.

I will be putting my veil up to copy a bubble veil after the ceremony. If you haven’t found one you can get one at ocansey designs, she makes beautiful ones.
I want to copy this look during the reception.

I have definitely seen bubble veils… I’m wondering if there is another name for them… because bubble veils remind me of bubble dresses…. but perhaps someone knows another term to describe the look…

@napabridekelsey: Thanks Friend!!! =) I’ll check those out soon!
@heatherrobyn: Etsy does have some great ones, I found an Etsy seller who would make the one I posted above and I am so excited to see the outcome! And worse case if I dont like it for myself and my dress, at least I didnt throw out $100s on it!

@CupCakeMeg: oh no way! You are doing the bubble veil too?! We have same dress, similar veil…you have excellent taste. I bought mine off of etsy. But the bubble veil I wanted in stores, had a rhinestone comb instead of pearl like the one you had a picture of…did you find one with the pearl detail on the comb on etsy?

Yup definitely heard of them.
Unrelated side note. My family and I went to an Italian restaraunt a couple years ago and my sister asked for an Italian Soda. The waitress said the same thing as your lady “I’ve worked here TEN YEARS and never heard of that”.
Uh….sorry? Some people are so silly!
