Not yet… I just finally decided on a wedding photographer… so all I’ve done is book the church, reception venue and photographer. I made my list Friday night… and well after speaking to my parents and my aunt last night and my FMIL there are more things i need to add. Like the fact that I wasnt going to do wedding favours but now it looks like I have to… so my list is getting longer. I’m going to check them off one by one too.

@classyashley:  Have you gotten your dress? I’m not loving the ones I’ve tried on and I’m afraid to order online…. But thats a big item I still have on my list to do. eeek!

@classyashley:  I’m also only 7 months out and was just thinking the same thing.  We have to start making out list of all of the “little things”.  Favor boxes/tags, candles for ceremony, cake knife, rehersal dress, gifts for wedding party/parents, etc.  I feel like the list just goes on and on.  I can’t believe how much there is.

I’ve been working on getting the little things for a while now.  I’ve only purchased a few things, like a cake knife and server, wedding cake topper, and some rhinestone pins for my hair.  Once I pick up my dress next week I’m going to start looking at accessories and shoes, since I’m picky and it might take me 7 months to find what I want, haha.

I’ve started acquiring (feels more like hoarding) some smaller items. Mostly for the decor but I also have my cake cutter, dress, shoes and veil. Here’s a pic of my cake cutter my mom bought for me years ago and just sent to me.

@classyashley:  So this thread prompted me to actually start making a written list (instead of my seemingly unendning mental list) and it was kind of overwhelming.  I just kept thinking of more and more things to add and started squishing things into corners to fit it all on one sheet of paper.  It’s amazing how many “little things” there are.

I’ve been doing a little bit here and there, but honestly, haven’t even made a real list yet. I guess I should start there. 🙂

We have our personalized cocktail napkins, and I just ordered the materials to make “tears of joy packets”. I did hotel door tags for the welcome bags last week, and that’s pretty much it.

Off to make a list!

@subola:  I should make a list, too.  Thanks for the idea!

June bride crashing….

I highly recommend buying the little things slowly over time… they add up so quickly and there are SO MANY of them! I’ve been basically buying one thing per paycheck or so, and it really takes some of the pain away.  Of course, the grand total ends up the same, but… it feels better!

@WillBeMrsD:  That’s not a bad idea.  Plus all of the craft stores and whatnot have coupons every week, so you can get everything on sale 😉

Um, will you guys share with me what is on your “little things” list. I feel like mine is so short, I must be forgetting things.

What’s on your list?

@thatredheadedbride:  No problem!  Also I am doing the same thing with coupons.  I found cupcake boxes (we are having cupcakes as favors) as Michaels.  I am buying 1 set a week for 5 weeks, so that I can use a 40% off coupon each week (plus my teacher discount – 15% off).  So I’m getting 100 boxes for only $15 (original cost would be $36).

@Reeniero:  My list is SO long, but here it is:

-Cake knife/server

-Favor boxes (in the works)

-Out of town bags

-Sashes for chairs

-Guest book

-Ceremoney decor

-Finalize menu for reception AND for rehersal dinner

-Wedding party gifts

-Parent gifts

-Supplies for bathroom baskets at reception

-Table Numbers

-Seating cards/escort cards (have to figure out what each is first, lol)

-Finalize ceremony

-Create/print programs

-Find someone with a camcorder

-Design/print ISpy cards

-Book hotel room

-Figure out how to get dress to venue (we live in MI but are getting married in NY)

-Buy garter/decide how we are going garter removal

-Find shoes and jewelry

-Find undergarmets

-Make appointments for manicures/pedicures for day before wedding

-Decide on hair accessories

-Buy veil (already decided, but need to order)

-Dress alterations

-Make music choices

And it goes on and on, but those are the main ones.
