I would love to do an extended tour of Europe, but SO wants to go lay on a beach and relax – he says that after wedding planning, he definitely won’t want to go on a vacation where we are doing things all the time… but I get bored just laying on the beach!

Our tentative compromise right now is to go to Costa Rica. I’ve heard there’s plenty to do there, all different kinds of landscapes to hike through, and plenty of beautiful beaches to lay on!

We want a non-conventional honeymoon. My SO isn’t a big beach fan but we compromised because we wanted something that would fit us as a couple. 🙂

I love this question! I used to think Australia was the ideal honeymoon, I don’t know where I got this idea from, but ever since I was a kid I’ve said “I’m going to Australia on my honeymoon!” LOL. But right now, if I could pick anywhere, it would be Alaska…I know that sounds weird, but I love nature and animals (So does SO). We both like hiking and running, and he likes fishing. I just want to see whales and wolves and go see the Klondike/where the gold rush was…and go to this place that this wolverine expert guy is and see the wolverines. I am the biggest weirdo. “What did you do on your honeymoon?” “Played with wolverines” I WISH!! hahaLaughing We may end up going to AK before we get married because we both really want to go, so who knows…this is still fun to think about!

@lilmisty:  I’m rather traditional so I want to goto the Maldives. Little ocean hut, fresh fruit and seafood every day, sun sea sand, and……..2 weeks alone with my new husband – BLISS.

To @katiecat08:  PEI, and well all of Atlantic Canada is GORGEOUS.

But May is still a tad early… July & August are best weather wise (and in regards to what is open etc)

Here in Canada our Tourist Season runs from Victoria Day Weekend (late May) thru to Thanksgiving (mid October)

BUT the best weather, and largest majority of things are on a FULL Schedule right after school ends at the end of June… thru to Labour Day Weekend.

For the month of May, PEI’s Average Daily High is 14 C (57 F) and the Low is 4 C (39 F)
The all time High is 31 C (88 F) and the all time Low is -6 C (21 F)

So not exactly the warmest of weather !!

By comparisson…

July and August typically see Daily Highs of 23 C (73 F) and Lows of 13 C (55 F)
With an al time High of 34 C (93 F)  and an all time Low of 2 C (35 F)

Whenever Mr TTR & I go “down east” we plan our travels in the 6 weeks that span from Canada Day thru to mid August, as that is when the Martimes are at their warmest.

Hope this helps,

The ultimate dream honeymoon for us would be the Maldives. But, what with it costing about £5000 for a week, I think we’ll probably spend a weekend in Italy and then save up to take our kids to Disneyland lol. A girl can dream though… Maybe for an important anniversary or something

I don’t know.  We had planned a destination wedding on a beach.  There is still discussion about whether parents and kids will be there or just us two.  So I was thinking get married near Miami to make it less expensive for our families then take a cruise or fly out of Miami to someplace Caribbean or eastern Mexico.  But last night he kept asking a lot of questions about what I would want a vacation to Italy to look like.  We’ve said from the first date that we both want to go to Italy.  We have an Italy Fund in a mason jar.  It has 5 dollars and 30 cents in it.  HAHAHAHAHA!  But to be honest I don’t really want to spend that much money on a honeymoon.  We’ve got other things that are going to be expensive coming up in the next two years so to be honest, I’d rather just do the cruise thing and save Italy for a few years from now when we’ve combined households (and children) in one house that needs some re-configuration/remodelling to make it comfortable for an extra two people.
