I’m the first in my family to get married(there hasn’t been a wedding in over 20 years for my side) but my fiance has had about 10 weddings in his family in the past 2 years. One of the venues is in a great location, is beautful, the staff is wonderful, the price includes everything (except for chair covers) for $50/plate but one of his cousins had her reception there a year ago. Is it a little gauche to have our reception there as well? Should I look for a new location?

Maybe talk to your FIs cousin? Some people would be bothered, but I would think it would be fine, since she already head her wedding, and yours will be totally differente. My husband and I had our reception in the same plae as one ofhis cousins who he’s very close to. Not a single problem, it was actually helpful to her her and the familys input on how they used the space.

I am having my reception at the same place 2 of my friends had their reception. I think its fine. I did feel funny picking the same place, but realized I was just over analyzing. Only a bride would worry about it being the same place. Most people I mentioned it too just said oh good I like that place.

If it is in the same place whoever was at the first wedding will probably comare it to the last wedding that was there so if yours is less extravagant than the last one I might be alittle hesitant to hold it there. That would be my only worry.
