HUGS. I do know how you feel (although SO and I have been together less time than you two).  When I spoke to (/ranted at) SO about it he just told me that he wanted to do something perfect, that I deserved something perfect. It’ll happen, I hope that tomorrow is a better waiting day for you!

@lilymarie23: URG. I know what you mean, only 4 friends aren’t married yet. I feel like there’s something wrong with me. Its hard to be hurt because he’s very sweet and I have never felt that he doesn’t love me, but I just don’t feel like I’m worth it.

I too am having a bad waiting weekend.

Don’t ever feel guilty for bitching, you have every right to be frustrated and to have all of these thoughts and feelings. I’m so sorry you had such a crappy weekend.. I know how it feels to be surrounded by married couples all of the time 🙁 it just makes you think even more about what you want so bad and dont have.. I had one of those weekends. .. But you shouldn’t doubt his feelings for you.. I know it’s not easy to do in the waiting situation, but even though men suck bad at expressing their feelings and emotions sometimes one thing I know is that if they don’t want to be with someone then they won’t..

I really hope your week gets better and that he makes it up to you and apologizes for saying whatever he said!..

Xoxo sweetie

After 7 years I would definately have a talk about what if he sees you in his future or not. No one wants to have that talk because they don’t want a negative answer, but at least you will know to stay or go. I feel like after several years men are almost selfish when they don’t propose because they have to know as women we long for the promise of a future together.

Another one of my lovely friends got engaged this weekend and another girl I know through a friend. I am so happy for them. but…I’m still a waiting bee. One day it’ll my time. I just can’t wait to be officially Mrs. D-C.

Haha do we know eachother? I know 2 couples who got engaged over the weekend! I am very happy for them, but I totally feel your pain. I’ve been with SO for 5 years and counting…..and waiting! I totally get frustrated, but I love this site. I feel like I’m not alone

@lilymarie23:  um… yeah… i COMPLETELY know how you feel. I’ve been dating my SO for a little over five years…I have been extremely patient, never nagging. We talk about marriage, and he wants to be with me, etc. etc.

He comes from a big and very close family. I have literally been to 7 of his cousin’s weddings. Did I mention that four out of those cousins met their spouse well after my SO and I had been dating a couple of years? So I basically have watched four of them be single, or even date someone, meet someone else, date that person, get engaged, get married…. Two of his other cousins who are engaged/married have been dating their SOs for the same amount of time as my relationship with SO….and they are both significantly younger than us.  One wedding we went to last month was for his cousin who is 20, and his bride who was 18! She had literally graduated from highschool the year before….I’m 30 by the way! At the reception, I literally felt like I was a chaperone at a highschool prom!!! Oh, and this weekend, we are going to yet another cousin’s wedding… and yes, I have been in a relationship years longer than she has been with her soon to be husband.

I’m not going to even go into the engagements that are constantly plaguing my news feed on facebook. And most of them are younger/haven’t been dating their SOs as long.

It is all very daunting…. WTF.
