I’ve been to a wedding where the couple did this and it worked perfectly. As SOON as the ceremony was over, food hit the table. Before then, people were at the bar or had drinks brought to them at their tables. The only nit might be for people that would have their backs to you, they’d have to turn themselves/chairs around. Hopefully that won’t be too disruptive, or you could layout the tables to keep that to a minimum. Bottom line, I don’t think this would be a huge issue, and thinking of doing the same for my wedding. 🙂

I think that would be fine. Based on the photo it looks like everyone will be happy!

regit45:  I think it will be fine. A lot of weddings held in spaces like this are done like this.

This was the orginal plan for my wedding, as we were going to use a hotel ballroom. I think it’s brilliant, and actually a lot more comfortable for guests. Also it gets rid of the stress and hassle of doing a room switch over. 🙂 Go for it!

I have been to 2 weddings that had this setup and it worked well.

People who would have had their backs to the ceremony simply turned their chairs to face the right direction.

I’m doing a flip personally – paying the setup fee..

I just feel like people sitting at their tables is impersonal..

We walked down the middle of the tables and everyone was watching intently and raved it was the best wedding setup– so comfortable for guests… no guessing, they grabbed their seat at the table and knew it was theirs all night.

We went to a wedding set up like this, and loved it! Was in a vfw, and just made sense with the space.

The last wedding I attended was like this. It was perfectly fine. The venue really was not well suited for too many moving parts. Save the money.
