That does look like a potential hazard. Anyway you guys can all practice walking on it in your shoes before the big day?

I had cobblestone and I was TERRIFIED, but no one tripped! 🙂

Barbiestylez:  I think it will be fine as long as everyone has secure shoes. I had to wear backless strappy heels for my sisters wedding and almost fell. Make sure they have backs & aren’t too big!

Barbiestylez:  I think it will be fine as long as they remember to pick up their feet (dragging could cause heels to snag) But i would definitly have them practice! maybe at the rehearsal?

Ahh, I’m doing a petal aisle runner too (but with swirls instead of the whole thing covered) and I’ve been worrying about the same thing! Everyone keeps reassuring me that people will walk carefully and it will be okay. Make sure the aisle runner is secured to the ground – I’ve heard that helps a lot!

My biggest concern would actually be your mom – is someone walking with her since she isn’t using her walker? If not, could someone be with her just in case? If you can, I’d also say you should practice walking on it so you can see what potential issues might pop up/what to tell your girls. Good luck!

Barbiestylez:  Good! I think she’ll be okay then – if she stumbles or has trouble at all, she’ll still have someone guiding her. With your petals covering the whole thing, I’m imagining that it’ll be similar to walking on soft carpet. A little difficult in heels, but totally doable without falling down!

As for securing it… umm… I think they make some aisle runner tape? I’m so nervous about someone slipping that I have not yet started to glue the petals down so the tape is way off my radar, LOL. Our ceremony room is carpeted so I don’t think the tape will be a huge issue, but I’m not sure about putting it down on wood. I bookmarked this article a while ago, maybe it will help a little? Hopefully it doesn’t add stress!  http://www.ehow.com/way_5673226_use-hold-down-aisle-runner.html

Another option is to just roll it out for when you walk down?

That’s what I did. Everyone walked down then my 2 brothers who were groomsmen and up at the altar unrolled it down the aisle. It was actually really cute- like they had a part in “giving me away”. Then my flower girl went and threw flowers and then it was my turn! We also had flowers all down the aisle on the side of where the aisle runner was going- so it still looked really nice without it.
